In 2021, I had a 12x36’ shedrow installed by Kloter Farms, and I feel compelled to share my deep disappointment with both the quality of the structure and the installation process. From the moment of delivery, it was clear that the shedrow was significantly unlevel. All the dutch doors were misaligned, tilting awkwardly and failing to open and close properly. Since its installation, the structure has remained in this state, as it was placed on what was claimed to be a Kloter laser-leveled gravel pad laid over natural hard-packed soil and ledge; however, the ground beneath it has not shifted, indicating that the building itself was indeed set unevenly.
To give some context, upon arrival, the driver informed me that he had experienced delays due to an accident involving my barn. He reassured me that there was no damage, but as soon as he left, I discovered a deep cut running through the corner trim and affecting over 15 battens on one side of the barn. Although Kloter did eventually replace the damaged battens after my persistent follow-ups, the issues did not end there. Several oak kickboards had been improperly secured (not screwed in at the tops) and warped away from the wall. Additionally, the metal stall partitions were installed incorrectly, with screws placed at awkward angles and lacking essential support filler wood. This was because they were also too short and the wrong size. While Kloter did rectify this issue, properly securing the partitions and kickboards, I was left with the sense that no thorough quality control check had taken place prior to delivery; they simply dropped off the structure and departed.
When I raised concerns about the uneven structure to Kloter Farms, their response was to adjust the doors and windows in an attempt to improve the appearance and functionality. However, their dismissive attitude shocked me, as they referred to the structure as "just a horse barn," implying that any imperfections should be considered acceptable.
Moreover, I have encountered serious problems with the roof installation. The drip edge was installed too tightly against the fascia around the entire structure, and it lacks the necessary kickout strip behind it. This design flaw has resulted in water seeping back into the decking in several areas, and, alarmingly, through the tops of two dutch doors, seeping directly inside the building due to surface tension. Despite my efforts to bring this to Kloter Farms' attention, they have refused to acknowledge or rectify the issue. Additionally, the shingles do not extend adequately beyond the drip edge, with many failing to reach it entirely along both eave and rake edge. This poor installation has led to noticeable water staining and damage, creating hazardous conditions within the horse stalls—another problem they have chosen to ignore.
When I raised these concerns with Kloter Farms, they asserted that their roof installation practices are consistent with those of their typical structures. This has raised suspicions that they may be profiting from the need for future repairs, such as replacing rotten doors, windows, trim, and siding, or even the potential necessity for an entirely new shed down the line. Their 10-year warranty feels meaningless in light of these ongoing issues.
Despite meeting a two nice service gentleman who came to fix what they could on two occasions, overall, my experience with Kloter Farms has been extremely frustrating, and I cannot recommend their services based on the lack of quality workmanship and inadequate customer...
Read moreKloter Farms need to get their act together and must be watched very closely. We like the furniture but… We have purchased a total of 11 pieces, including mattress & box spring (5 pieces this time and 6 pieces on the first purchase) . Most recently we purchased a bedroom set, bed, dresser and night table. They delivered the incorrect footboard, so the brackets did not line up correctly with the rails and the bed could not be assembled. The following week, they sent out the “correct one” but it was not correct. It was not even the same style as the headboard and belonged to a completely different bed set. They brought out the correct one on the third visit. But then we noticed they sent the wrong mattress. The one they sent was a less expensive mattress and box spring than the one we purchased and paid for. It was $1,200 less expensive. They agreed it was the incorrect mattress and box spring and that they had ordered the wrong ones. They would have made their normal profit plus an additional $1,200 on us for the mattress set and we would have ended up with the incorrect & less expensive ones had my wife not caught the error. Kloter Farms took advantage of my wife’s good nature when they resolved the issues.
On the first purchase, we purchased 6 pieces of furniture for our family room. 3 of the 6 pieces had to be returned. One for the finish bubbling on the recliner arms (and they delivered it to us anyway). The Entertainment Center door did not close properly as it was cut incorrectly and could not be fixed by their repairman and the Corner TV Console unit was the wrong item. They eventually replaced them all but when the correct Corner TV Console arrived it had an 8-inch dent across the top from someone putting other furniture on top of it and sliding it across. To their credit, Kloter farms worked at fixing all those issues. The furniture looks nice, but it was frustrating dealing with them and correcting all of their mistakes. This tells me that they either lack quality control or they try to slip the imperfections past their customers or perhaps both. After all of this we have decided to no longer trust them or make any future purchases from them. We have been looking at purchasing a 20 by 12 shed but will not purchase it from Kloter Farms after...
Read moreWe want to thank Lydia Welti and the entire cabinetry team at Kloter Farms for the outstanding service we received in purchasing cabinetry for our new home addition. This included a vanity and customized storage cabinet for our new bathroom, and upper and lower cabinetry for our new wet bar.
From the day we walked into Kloter Farms back in Jul 2024, until the day the cabinets were delivered in Feb 2025, Lydia was there for us every step of the way. She helped us with ideas & suggestions on selecting the appropriate cabinetry design we wanted for this new space. Looking back, before going to Kloter, we were somewhat naïve in the sense that thought we were pretty certain on the type & style of cabinets we wanted. However, the evolution of the process, and most notably being able to work with Lydia (and the cabinetry team) proved differently. Lydia noticed some uncertainly in our early selection thoughts, and suggested we look at certain sites online to find inspiration and ideas to make sure we were very confident in this important decision. She was extremely patient, we never felt pressure or rushed by Lydia throughout this entire process. She never tried steering us somewhere we didn’t want to go. Also, there were a few times in the process we were overwhelmed with other elements of the addition, and thus did not communicate with Lydia as timely as we should have. This never altered the friendly and pleasant demeanor Lydia exhibited throughout the eight (8) months we had the pleasure of working with her. Lastly, a week or so after the cabinets were delivered, Lydia reached out to us to make sure everything was okay, and that we were happy with the end result. We are extremely pleased with the cabinets themselves; they are very well-crafted, and they are gorgeous. We are also very pleased with the professional, friendly and knowledgeable customer service Lydia provided.
Lydia knows the cabinet business, and maybe more importantly she has a natural ability to work with people. You are lucky to have her! Please pass on our thanks to Lydia and the entire Kloter Farms cabinetry team who were involved in this process. Thank you!
Regards,
Jim & Ed West...
