I went to this place recommended by a friend of mine. I have ordered the Lomo Saltado dish even though I thought the price was a bit high regardless if food was good it will be worth it. What a disappointment when the dish arrive. Let’s break down the dish the flavor was on point because has been flame however the meat was hard to chew. If a restaurant want to charge a higher price than other Peruvian restaurants they can do that however quality has to be on point. I will say flavor and preparation was good but the meat low quality. When I ask for “aji huacatay” they say that they didn’t have it. They make their own green sauce that doesn’t have the flavor of the real thing. At the end of my meal I asked for my bill and I was surprised that the tip was imposed on my bill. I was a party of one and usually this rule is when they serve a table of six or more people. The tip is not obligation to demand from customers. I have worked in restaurants at one point of my life so I am a very good tipper because I understand servers. Read moreWe noticed the new arrival of Contigo Peru and were very interested in trying it out. It is definitely a local restaurant, very ma-and-pa style. It is clean and orderly. The wait staff were polite and trying to do their best work. The food portions were amazing. The food tasted delicious and came out in a timely manner. This is definitely Peruvian food. This is a place you go to when you want family feel, local food that feels like your mom made it. Warm, simple, pleasant. The only suggestion I would make: it would be really nice if there were some Peruvian art or some kind of decorative pieces on the walls. Needs a little more detail....
Read moreI live in the area and I was looking forward to coming to this newly opened restaurant. Finally the day came, went with one of my Peruvian friends. The first tell tell sign is if there are people from Peru eating there and yes there was, so I was like I think we hit a jack pot. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Had the lomo saltado, Tallarin (green spaghetti pesto) with chicken and for dessert crema volteada (flan). The atmosphere was really nice, they played a lot of old school salsa and it was just right. I would definitely come back again for some great Peruvian food! So glad it’s close to the house...
