You definitely need to time your arrival. I tend to go during less than peak times, and have always had a great experience. The experience might be just as great during peak times, but the line/ wait is much, much less.
If you're going to visit this place with any regularity, get their app/ rewards points. The points don't expire and you earn free subs with point you get based on the size of subs you purchase. Sure, maybe they're building that potential free sub into the cost of the subs you're paying for, but doesn't that just mean that there's an even greater reason to get those free subs? Plus you get a free sub on your birthday.
I am not affiliated with Jersey Mike's, and not employed by them. However, I am definitely affiliated with getting free stuff, that's why I'm pushing that rewards program so hard. You need to let free stuff in your life!
As for the subs, all of the ones I've tried have never disappointed. My favorite go-to is roast beef with provolone (add bacon), but I also fully enjoy their beef cheesesteak options (especially the Kahuna, but without jalapeno), tuna, and italian.
When it comes to 'Mike's way', I can really offer opinion. Depending on my order, the toppings vary but I always pass on the vinegar splash in favor of mayo (or neither vinegor OR mayo on the tuna salad). But the staff is always patient with you making your choices. I've seen them juggle 5 sandwiches, each prepared in a different way for one order (usually, the order ahead of mine. Frustrating for the wait, but their patience and attention were definitely noted).
They tend to lose attention when they ring you out, but I'm not taking anything away from that. There are times I said no bag and they put the order in a bag. There are times I asked them not to cut, and they cut. It's not the end of the world, either I get a cut sandwich I didn't need cut (their loss of time, no loss of mine), or I get an extra piece of paper to deal with (hey, it's not the FORBIDDEN PLASTIC BAG right?).
As a chain, I love their food. As this store in particular, the staff are friendly and casual (at least in non-peak times). I'll never stop...
Read moreI will never return here again. Did my online order showed up maybe 2min early. There was bags on the pickup shelves none with my name no big deal I was early. Watched the lines back up as things got busier. 45min later I had it and the dude that was making sandwiches actually asked me as I was trying to get the guy at the registers attention what my name was. He turns to a counter full of pick ups and says here. There were 8 others in the same boat waiting for their orders they already paid for. The guy behind the register was obviously flustered and had no organizational skills to handle the job of taking payments from customers there and getting those bags on the shelves . Who knows how long my bag was sitting there but when I got home my sandwich was cold dry and the roll was burnt some how. I even left a tip ahead of time for this service. People standing there couldnt believe it either as they were finally getting their food after standing there so long. Did nobody wonder why we were standing there that long? Ridgewood and paramus will be getting my buisness.
Pretty good. The guys at night are real nice and kept it moving. Place looks pretty clean and the food is right out there so you can see it as they grab it. Grabbed a few steak and cheese sandwiches and chips. The steaks are pretty good and tasty. I'll definitely be coming back here when I need a sandwich fix. Fyi the rolls are that nice soft hero rolls just how...
Read moreCan't complain when they get it right...I repeat, when they get it right. Saturday I purchased a Giant $16+ hero within an hour of calling to confirm they had Whole wheat bread. (They had been out of it the last two times I called prior to ordering via their app) they told me yes we have it today. My wife was shopping near by and said she would pick it up. She gets home (6 mi. drive) only to see they gave her White bread, not whole wheat as asked for. Plus it must have been two days old. Stale to where I probably could have driven a nail with it. This being the third time it's happened. I called to complain, manager was polite and apologized for the mistake and said the bread had just come out of the oven. After being told an hour earlier they had it. Next he says, come back and we'll rectify it. Like I'm going to drive 12 miles round trip. He said he would bring it right over. It was late so he agreed bring in the next day (Sunday). It's Monday and I'm still waiting. No call nothing. My point, check your order before you leave. IMO, I spend enough there to deserve a bit of...
