First time visiting Cafe 23. Located in South Mountain Cycle on the side as you enter. Restaurant is cute with nice tables and some outdoor seating. Menu is limited so we tred their vegetable omelet, a chicken Caesar wrap and a Samson breakfast sandwich. The omelet was ok but the egg was so thin and looked more like a crape than an omelet. The filling had a small amount of peppers and onions and some greens on the side that I assume was meant to be salad but really wasn't at all. It came with your choice of toast which was actually the only thing that was a good portion in the order. All other sides are extra charge, which we didn't want considering the prices were high enough. The taste was ok but definitely not worth the price for what you get. See pics. The chicken Caesar wrap was simple and just ok and had nothing special about it and It came with nothing, not some chips or even a pickle, Nothing At All , which was surprising and disappointing and definitely not worth the price. I could have gone to Wawa for the same wrap and much cheaper too. The Samson breakfast sandwich was just ok too. We went with the bacon and egg but this too had more bread than ingredients and not worth the price. Prices are high and you don't get your money's worth. We spent 44 dollars for take out , see receipt, and the food was not worth it in any way. Maybe they needed to focus more on the food instead of the decor. Disappointing and not worth a second visit. Read moreWe decided to try Café 23, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. We began with drinks—three chocolate milks that were served warm, and two hot coffees that cost $6 each. On top of that, we were charged an extra $0.50 per coffee just for creamer, something I’ve never seen at any other restaurant.
When the food arrived, things only got worse. The $4 side of breakfast potatoes came in a dish so small it looked like it was meant for ketchup. The French toast was $14 for a single slice of bread—and to make matters worse, every order was made incorrectly because the wrong batter was used. None of them were prepared properly, and the taste didn’t make up for it. The pictures they have posted are not even what you receive.
By the end, we had spent $150 on a breakfast that left us so unsatisfied, we left and ate somewhere else. For the price, portion sizes, and quality, this place is simply not worth it. I would never...
Read moreI went to this restaurant with some of my friends. We were 7 people. We didn't reserve a party or something. It was just 7 people who met in a place to eat something and chat. They charged $30 FOR LARGE PARTY FEE. They didn't inform us about that. I have no idea why we are being charged for this. You guys think we are bunch of ignorants and you can arbitrarily charge us? Keep treating your customers and charging them unfairly (!) Also, how do you define the size of a party? Would you still charge people if they are a group of 3-4 people for medium party fee? In addition to this unfair charge, they brought me a different food when l ordered a cheesecake. They later had to get it back and bring the cheesecake l want, but didn't understand why they brought me a completely different thing although l ordered a cheesecake. I don't recommend this place. Won't eat or order anything from this restaurant. And will ask my friends to stay...
