Shelter House — Attraction in Huston Township

The caretaker really knows his stuff. He knows every detail about the history of this place. From the founding of the historical chapter who manages the site to its' endless visitors logged in the record. He even shared with me how the inhabitants of the time cooked in a large cauldron!

I highly recommend a visit if you like history or want to feel like you're in the past. The entire walk from the baseball field across the street feels like walking through time. From the Dutch style pavilion to the authentic log cabin and finally, the working water well. The only evidence you aren't in the 1800's will be the clothes...
