To start this off our server and front of house were very good for the most part. Our total Ticket was : sea bass, two salads, crab, pork belly, eggplant dumplings, and 2 duck confit. Total bill with tip was 360.00 USD. Complementary bread and baked goods were great, especially since our table was 45 min from order to food. One of the drinks came with a couple of flakes that we assumed were bread floating on top and server filled a mostly empty soft drink glass with water then took away the empty water glass but they were so good nobody minded. Salads came out looking fine but with very noticeable blemishes on the under ripe tomatoes. The rest of the produce was fresh and tasty but at the end of the day it was a salad. The soup of the day was savory and well seasoned! The pork belly and 100 layer potato were amazing. I was especially a fan of the sauce. The dumplings were a big miss for me, I don't know that eggplant, miso and orange are the winning combo. The duck was completely devoid of flavor as well as anemic looking by the size of the quarter. However, the shredded Brussel sprouts with cherry were quite nice but given it was used as a bedding for the duck, which was small, it left me wishing there was more of everything. I will say the plating of the duck was beautiful and meticulous, however that was the best part of the dish. King crab 1/2lb... just don't, for 50$ I expected more than half of a segment of crab. The seabass was seared PERFECT! It had amazing crunch and was cooked through masterfully. The risotto it sat on top of was another story. The fish had no seasoning or flavor beyond the fish itself which I am fine with, when you can deliver fish like that you should let it be the star. But the unseasoned fish on top of the bland risotto was almost disrespectful to the fish. I really wish it had a better pairing. Maybe something Asian with some acid and stronger spices. Overall everyone was happy with their plates and it served the purpose of the occasion we were celebrating. I would not normally be this picky but when you charge approx. 70.00 USD per diner plus tip I believe you open yourself up to honest and reasonable criticism. Is it worth it? If you are going to gamble anyway and want to FEEL like you are at a 4-star restaurant, absolutely! The front of house was on par with that. If you want to eat 4-star food, it is my opinion there are better options...
Read moreWe ate there for the first time on 3/12/25. We had absolutely no expectations since we didn't know the menu or anything about the restaurant itself. We chose to eat there because we were essentially eating free.
First, the staff was friendly and attentive. There's nothing bad I can say about the host that sat us our or server. At no time did we have to wait for refills, food, etc. This is a major plus.
The food is given 4 stars due to cost and the taste of the Caesar salad. While interesting and petty presentation, the salad dressing itself wasn't delicious at all. Almost flavorless you could say? There were two in our party and neither of us liked it. Now, cost.... while the rest of our meal was absolutely mouth watering, the cost was outrageous. The steak and lobster tail was $110 with most, very small sides, being between $8-$15. I understand good food is an art but a final bill of $185 for two people is not worth the trip back if having to pay out of pocket. I still give the food 4 stars but be prepared to pay.
The atmosphere was ok. Tables spaced out nicely with cloth tablecloth. 4 stars due to noise and somewhere inebriated patrons coming from the casino for dinner. While Nibi portrays itself to be elegant, it's somewhat difficult to achieve fully when you have a table or two speaking and laughing quite loudly. These must have been regulars as the server and manager were laughing with them quite often. Note that the manager visited this table at least 5x while we dined but we didn't see him visit other tables or ours to inquire on our visit. Unsure if they don't do this or not but most restaurants we visit do, even...
Read moreThis restaurant has never recovered since COVID in my opinion. It used to be a great place for a steak with great service. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.
We were eating there for my wife’s birthday and things started out standard. We were seated and our server asked if we were celebrating anything. I mentioned my wife’s birthday and I honestly don’t know why she asked because she never mentioned it again. The whole dinner was a weird experience. I felt the server was very condescending and rude but doing it all with a smile and some weird Disney princess voice. All 3 of us felt her to be very insincere. As an example, after it took 40 min to get an appetizer, I asked if the steaks would be there soon. She responded with, “well it is pretty standard for the main course to come after the appetizer”. Um yeah I’m aware Elsa. This was just one of many, strange and sort of passive aggressive statements she said all night. When our food arrived, after 1 hour 20 minutes my wife’s steak was cold and mine was very undercooked. Finally I had enough and asked for the manager. He came over, listened to what I said, and gave us some $$ off. Weirdly he didn’t really apologize either but honestly at that point we were all just done. He did start to argue with me about what a medium steak looks like but seemed to think better of it and decided to not.
Overall a disappointing night. I should mention that “short staffed” was mentioned multiple times but based on how little the manager seems to be doing and the amount of staff who seemed to be standing around quite a bit, that seems...
