Local family owned, and family ran business, a staple in the community (I imagine.)
3 sides, restaurant, gas station, truck stop.
The restaurant is buffet only (as far as I know.) As of November 2022 it came WI a drink and after tax It was only I believe $13 and change (or something close to that, I remember commenting how affordable it was.) Food was good. When I went they had fried and baked chicken (both very good) pot roast, ham, and maybe another meat or two. For vegetables they had mashed potatoes, which IF they were not real, Then they were the best fake ones I had ever had, but I believe they were real. They weren't incredible overall or anything, but they were pretty good. They also had macaroni and cheese, string beans, bread pudding, several other sides and a full salad bar. 4 stars, everything was about as food as it could be, nice, helpful and polite service, but for a 5 star rating from me must go way past expected. No complaints, and no suggestions
Truck stop: fairly spacious parking lot, easy access from either side of the road, but it is on the westbound moving side. So if going east you'll need to use the light and make a left. They had showers, washing machine, rest area and a "game room" for adults (gambling) Don't have anything to add there, I can't speak on any of that.
Gas station: I imagine it's the most popular gas station in the town right? On the main drag. They have everything in the other gas station would, except more (prepared) food choices than most gas stations and a bigger shopping selection for food, snacks, drinks, beer (I think, didn't buy any) than most gas stations. Also a decent Tool/parts/lube selection. They also have several quarter drop machines (where you win quarters by putting quarters in and trying to push them off the edge.) They also have the digital slot games. BATHROOMS- The bathrooms were extraordinarily clean, And I'm pretty sure the gas station bathrooms were separate from the truck. Stop bathrooms (But don't hold me to that)

ย ย ย Read moreGood news chicken lovers! This restaurant's buffet had 5 different types of chicken (fried chicken, bbq chicken, chicken tenders, Buffalo wings, honey bbq wings). I sampled the fried chicken, the honey bbq wings, and the tenders. They were all good.
Other than the salad bar, there weren't very many veggies. Green beans and mashed potatoes (with gigantic peels mixed in...not a fan) was about it. They did have rice and Mac n Cheese for sides also.
There appeared to be silver dollar pancakes on the buffet, but upon closer inspection it was actually corn bread. I'm used to it being flat, crispy, and dark brown...it was ok.
The sweet tea was on point (and yes I am a southern born and bred sweet tea snob).
For dessert, a good (not the best I've ever had, but good) banana pudding. They also have a soft serve machine with toppings. The sign says "vanilla only". Sorry chocolate fans.
Better get your butt in here by 9:00pm if you want the buffet. That's when they start taking up the buffet. Never fear, you can still order from the menu after 9...
Buffet was $12.50. After drink and taxes it was $14.10. You can figure $16+ after tip. Or maybe you're the kind who doesn't tip....๐
I struggled with the rating on this one. I would like to give it 3.5. I think 3 is too harsh because the food was mostly good, and 4 is a little too generous because of the 9:00pm buffet curfew... Hey, what can I say? I'm a...
ย ย ย Read moreI saw a billboard for this place on I-95 and it was about lunch time so... Don't blink or you'll miss this place. Also, don't let the unassuming exterior fool you. This place serves up some good country food. I stopped in to get something to go. There appeared to be a lot of locals inside for some Easter lunch, which I took as a good sign.
I'd describe the buffet offerings as southern comfort food. Fried chicken, grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, cabbage, mac n cheese, corn, banana pudding, etc. There' was also a salad bar. The staff was friendly and the buffet to go price was $9.25/lb. What you see in the pic cost me $11 and change. Everything was delicious. I ate every bite. The mashed potatoes were definitely made from scratch. You could taste it. Not sure if I'd recommend this place to vegetarians as there was no non-meat entree options, but if you're good with just eating some tasty sides, you'll have enough to choose from. I definitely would not recommend this place for...
