Las Catrinas Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Emporia

(I believe someone spit in my girlfriends food) I went here with my girlfriend, and I orded the steak something, and she got the emporia burrito and she asked for chicken. They gave her chorizo, granted she had perhaps said it quietly and the music can be quite loud, but the server did everything off of memory not writing on a notepad. And then when they come back with the second plate it is then beef, and after they messed it up the first time I was the one who spoke. So this time I got out of my seat to speak to an employee about it, so the waitress goes back and gets it fixed. Although the third time around they did get it right, but the hostess kept giving my girlfriend weird looks, (at least 5 times) she would be smiling and just give a weird look. My girlfriend admitted to me that her food did taste a little weird. So I'm suspicious that somebody perhaps did something to my girlfriends food even though it was clearly not her fault. And when I went to pay, the hostess was trying not to grin so I only really assume my girlfriends food was tampered. My girlfriend felt really uncomfortable to be eating but didn't want to be disrespectful, and she had genuinely felt bad for our waitress. I know this place just started but I had two different experiences already my mother and I went to lunch when things weren't quite as busy the food was great that time and loved the salsa and prices were fair. Then the next time I went was on a Friday night it was chaotic to say the least the waiter was confused and running around and couldn't get much of what we ordered correct you could tell he didn't understand English that well. The night time prices are a little extreme for a normal family of 4 before tip with 2 regular meals and 2 kids meals and one app was over $75. Our ticket was also messed up but you couldn't tell exactly what was what on receipt because there is no description of item next to prices.The food during the night visit was dry and flavorless compared to the lunch visit and our grandsons hamburger was raw and had a strange flavor. With so many other Mexican options in Emporia not sure I would go here again maybe another...

1st and last time dining here. We were excited to try this place because we do see a lot patrons coming and going. We came to the place around 2:30p for a late lunch. Right when we walked in, the Mexican music was blaring. So much so, we truly couldn't hear each other to have a conversation. Once we received our food, it was just OK. Not much flavor. The chips and salsa were great tho. My Mother had the chimichanga and she did like hers. I had a chicken burrito.
