Taco Bell — Restaurant in Emporia

Ok. Originally I had posted this location was fine but I wasn't thrilled about the menu changes. But no one is so let's look at this locations specific issues.

The people working the drive thru are either very pleasant or simply don't give a s#!t. The later you go the more of the latter you see. No one should have to wait for the person working the window to get done with their conversation with the line person over their loud rap music while they are holding your bag with your completed order. We also see a decline in the quality of product. Tortillas not warmed so they're brittle and break. Meat filling (especially what they use in the chili cheese burritos) with a distinct plastic taste. And the rice..... THE FLIPPING RICE..... that has sat there and dried out to the point it might as well not been cooked at all.

(I've notified them on their website about this issue after not getting any kind of positive response after contacting the store directly. No response. )

This has been over the course of several trips since this summer (of 2020). It transformed from one of my go to places to a place I'm not inclined to go to at all.

When your menu uses virtually the same 6 or 7 ingredients on every item, and rice is a filler on about half of those things, I wouldn't imagine there should be too many complications.

This was my first time trying this location, and the last. I'm usually open to giving second and even third chances, but this place was so bad. I wouldn't spend another dollar in this place. The server was rude and not at all friendly. I smiled and it was returned with an eye roll. I get that we all have bad days. However, frustrations should not be taken out on a paying customer who is being patient, kind, and paying for your time. I called the order in ahead to give them a chance to make my order before I came to pick it up. When I got there they shoved the bag at me. I asked if they had added the sauces that I'd asked for and was told it was all there. I had a large order, so I did my best to check it out before I drove away but apparently I didn't check well enough because part of my order was missing. Plus, they had not given me the sauces that I asked for. Eating out is a treat and is not cheap for a family to dine. It really aggravated me that I was not given the food that I paid for, and worse yet was the way I was treated by the staff of this location. I didn't even bother to call them about my missing items. I would not recommend eating here. Apparently, customer service is low on their priority list. As is giving the customer what they paid for. This is the first 1 star review I've given any place. I went this evening to get their new Y2K menu items and I was very impressed. I ordered a 7 layer Burrito but the definate star of the show was my Chili Cheese Burrito. Biting into it was nostalgia all over again and whoever made it definitely needs a raise because it tasted beyond delicious and I requested mine to be grilled and they grilled it to perfection.It had just the right amount of crunch to the tortilla and this 6th st Taco Bell location always seems to make my order just the way I requested. Their evening crew makes this location a well oiled machine and big props to whoever made my Chili Cheese Burrito tonight cause it was so good I had to order another one. The staff was super friendly and I like how the store is well lit inside and out which is a good thing. Thank you Taco Bell for my wonderful experience. I'll he back soon for more Chili Cheese Burritos.
