Roberto's Mexican Food - Leucadia — Restaurant in Encinitas

NOT AS ALL APPEARS IS EQUAL! We are a Roberto's family and love their food.... HOWEVER... the family broke up all the businesses between each family member via siblings. That being said, what you fall in love with menu items, at one location(s), surely you'd assume that each "Family owned Roberto's" you'd have menu consistency... UNFORTUNATELY NOT THE CASE!! BOOOOOOOOO! SOOOO... while my daughter & I were ecstatic to grab dinner here, on the way to house*sit...we were sorely disappointed... With menu choice, let alone menu prices!! Talk about gouging the tourists on coast hwy.... We ordered as we were STARVING & by the time we got hone to eat, (7MIMS) we were so bummed with the lack of qualify & gross presentation, slammed in a Styrofoam box...that we didn't eat at all... I guess we have to stick with the Roberto's we know & love.... NOT ALL (ROBERTO'S) FAMILY IS EQUAL NOR CERTAINLY IN QUALITY PRODUCT......

I stopped in there after a surf session last Friday and I was hungry. I ordered the chicken taco plate which came with rice and beans. As I was taking a bite of my taco I tasted a strong rotten fishy taste. Knowing what I know now I should have spit that bite out and asked for my money back but I didn’t and paid the price for for the next 2 days. About 1 hr after the meal while out on the town that night my stomach began to ache and the diahrea came and didn’t stop for 2 days. I know it was that meal because that was the only meal I ate out normal food sources and I had been fine. This experience really put a big dampener on my surf trip and never ever again will I eat here or anywhere like it. It’s just not worth the risk. Roberto’s Mexican Food located at 1900 N Coast Hwy 101, Encinitas, CA 92024 is an excellent Mexican Food takeout spot. Great shells and fillings! Friendly service too. The local city council is making it impossible to do business however with their absurd “no outdoor seating” mandates coming forward. This local shop thrives on having a few seating spots available outside and the audacity to restrict that is really stupid from the City. Those who mandated that need to be replaced - vote their raggedy tails out of office if that is the case!!! They are replaceable - make it happen. Thousands will see this as I get over 300,000 daily views to my reviews, don’t let the city bully this great establishment. Do the right/just thing and make exceptions for places like this to exist!
