Sarapes Restaurant — Restaurant in Enfield

I was getting together with friends for a night out and I suggested we go to Sarape's. I had been here a few times and the food and service was amazing! However, we were all so disappointed last night! The margarita's were weak! The limeade or whatever they call their drink was WAY WAY to sweet. The server didn't come back and offering refills of any of our drinks, water or otherwise. We wait almost 20 minutes because they ran out of chips and had to make more. We place our orders and 30 minutes later 4 of our party got their meal but no one else. As the server was waiting on another table we asked about the rest of the orders and she said their system went down and they are working on it now. We were NEVER told. Our friends felt super awkward eating while we were still waiting. It took another 20/30 minutes for the rest of us to get our meals. There was 1 in our group who had to wait another 10 minutes for her meal! And we still didn't have refills on our drinks! The food was the worst it has ever been! There was no flavor to it! It was so bland. The red sauce was spicy, but one note. Their rice was not the Mexican rice you would expect, it was white, no flavor, and had peas and carrots in it, like you would find in Chinese rice. I ordered a burrito Carne Asada. It was room temperature when it arrives. It was so bland you could tell what it was. The burrito wrapping was doughy, uncooked. The Carne Asada was dry, over cooked, and flavorless. I had ordered a side of fries as well. After putting half the salt shaker on them, they were the best part of our meals! We were all so disappointed with our meals. I did take my burrito home but as soon as I got out of my car, it went in my tipper barrel. We made reservations weeks ago. They had so much time to prepare and it was a huge let down. FIRST TIME N LAST TIME They need to CLEAN N DESINFECTING ALL THERE. Bunch of flies , 4 TABLES DIRTY. They latinos but tend to TREAT white people better MAYBE cause most of the area is Mostly White. N obviously they dont know best. I EAT N BETTER MEXICANS Restaurants. Even the Van that park next to where i live is BETTER n TASTE BETTER. not only was Dirty ALL as soon i enter the place is the BAD FOOD n It was PLASTIC N HAIR n the food. They NOT Clear on their menus either. IT WAS A WASTE OF GAS I DONT LIVE IN CT. , WASTE OF MONEY IN ALL. IT WAS EMBARESS THIS NEVER HAPPEN TO ME BEFORE WHERE I WAS NOT ABLE TO EAT NOTHINGGG AT ALL SMH I GUESS ITS THE GOOD AVERAGE FOR THE WHITE UNKNOWN OF REAL MEXICAN TASTE FOOD just saying. AND WOMEN YOU THE MANAGER IF YOU WERE ANOTHER YOU WOULD GIVE ME ALL FREE CAUSE WE DIDNT EAT SHIT I MEAN YOUR SHIT CAUSE IS ALL DUSGUSTING PERIOD. My finance and I love this place. We have been there about three to four times now sadly it is so far away from where we live so we don’t get to have the time to go there more often. We both know real Mexican food and it is the best in the state in both of our opinions! We also love the bakery next store which is owned by the same people. I just die for the carne asada tacos with lousy cheese on flour tortillas and I also a enjoy their Coca Cola Imported from El Salvador ( I know they have Mexican Coca Cola too cause my finance had one of those last time) but every time I seem to get the El Salvadoran version which I love better than both American and Mexican! The only problem I had was when they forgot to send us off with the two tacos for our son at home that we haven’t been back to receive but that is just a common mistake and hope they will remember us to give them to us. Carla is always so nice respect and has the best attitude. We will never go to any other Mexican restaurant again this is our permanent spot which took us two years to find!
