We stopped by 1Love due to a bathroom break at a hotel during a long drive to Hadley, MA. Almost went to chipotle, but wanted something unique. I had just had some good Jamaican in Philly, so I jumped at the chance to try some in North CT after a light google maps search. The stewed pork was absolutely amazing. It was the best Jamaican I've ever had that I can remember; so juicy and flavorful. My first bite was a big piece of pork with a fat strip on it. I was in the car, and after the bite I asked my partner if she could hold the box for a second. I ran in to tell the woman that it was simply "STUPID GOOD." She smiled and thanked me. While I had my first bite, my partner nibbled at the coconut dessert they had. I forget what it's called (maybe coconut drop) but it was brown and the lady described it to us as similar to peanut brittle, but with coconut and ginger. They had several in plastic clear boxes sitting on the wall for you to grab and go. This was a very unique and delicious dessert - we shared some with our friends we stayed with the following morning and none of us could get enough! The ginger taste seemed strong to some while to me it was very faint which was great because I hate ginger. Not only was the stewed pork amazing - the plantains were so fresh and tender as well. I didn't love the cabbage as it was a bit plain but who cares... The lady was so nice as I am a talker, so she walked me through the stewed pork and what my options were. I wasn't eating grains that day, so she said instead of the rice and beans I could get plantains, cabbage, or a mix of both. The serving was ENORMOUS for the middle sized box - she gave me a separate boxes for the plantains and cabbage (3 altogether). I wish I lived closer to this place because I'd be going at least monthly to get my Jamaican fix. I can't wait to drive back up and try the Jerk pork (only available on weekends)!!!!

I recommend ordering takeout and eating at home, especially if you choose the stewed oxtail. That way, you get to use your hands and enjoy every little bit of that juicy, tender meat and cartilage off the bone. You do have the option to dine in. There should be enough space. After all, this place used to be where Sarapes Mexican Restaurant was for many years before they relocated to a bigger place with a bar. You will, however, have to contend with using plastic cutlery and eat from the same take out plastic calmshell. So again, take it home. I really enjoyed both the Stewed Oxtail and Stewed Pork, each with generous servings of rice with peas and cabbage. I am so very sure you will too.

Have been living in Enfield for about 3 years, I used to pass through this place every day, Jamaican food, I like spice and this guy's green Scotch Bonnet peppers similar than my habaneros, so, today I make plan with the wify to stop after work and take dinner there, food is pretty good, I put a 9 of 10, a lot of flavor, people is really friendly, I do recommend 100% this place! Rice, beans, and meat area flavorful! 😋

Pros. Food- It's rare to find Jamaican restaurants whose meat is perfectly browned without being too "light skinned" or tar black this place got it perfectly right and food looks amazing.Even the richness and density of the gravy was appetizing at 1st sight. -Location in small Plaza but parking was ample and convenient -Restaurant split into 2 sections, 1 for take out with a bar type counter to either eat or wait and the other to dine both including the bathroom very very clean and decorated beautifully. Customer Service was terrific. The lady was efficient accommodating and genuine. Price and portions were very reasonable and fairly generous.

CONS Food despite its appearance needed more flavour. I had oxtails and brown stew pork both looked amazing but needed more seasoning. The place was cold, not sure if they didn't put the heat on yet but it made the environment feel uninviting so I ended up eating in my car.

Overall still worth the visit if your in the area and have a...

SMH.. I should have gone with my gut feeling and left.. Where do I start, the rice was too soft (putty) , in addition, I couldn't even taste any coconut in it. The guy took my food in the back and took wayyyy too long to bring it back out. 🤔 Right then I was going to cancel the order. However, I already paid $31.13 for two of the smallest plates (one jerk rice and peas) and (one fried chicken white rice). (Two ginger bear and two patties). The white rice was also mushy and bland. Most of the 5stars do NOT come from REAL JAMAICANS. Their food is TRASH. I might as well tore up my money and threw it in the TRASH (I feel like throwing up).

We always bless our food before consumption, therefore if the tall guy did anything to it (while in the back) GOD will sicken him and his family. And the whole place Will go out of business. For we keep all GOD'S commandments. Touch NOT our heavenly...
