I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Kalbi, a Korean BBQ restaurant that truly stands out in the vibrant culinary scene. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional.
The service at The Kalbi was impeccable. The staff's attentiveness and friendliness added a delightful touch to the dining experience. They are knowledgeable about meats and the perfect cook time, helping us navigate through the diverse options with genuine enthusiasm.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show--the meats. The juicy pork jowl was a revelation, perfectly seasoned and cooked to mouthwatering perfection. Each bite was a burst of flavor, leaving me craving more. The high-quality prime short rib was another highlight, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to using top-notch ingredients. Tender and succulent, it melted in my mouth, leaving a lasting impression.
The marinated prime ribs elevated the experience even further. The combination of flavors in the marinade was a symphony for the taste buds--savory, sweet, and perfectly balanced. It added an extra layer of richness to the already delectable meats.
And let's not forget the pork belly--a true crowd-pleaser. Crispy on the outside, yet incredibly tender on the inside, it was a delightful contrast of textures. The careful attention to detail in the cooking process was evident, resulting in a dish that left everyone at the table raving.
What sets The Kalbi apart is not just the quality of the meats but the overall commitment to delivering an unforgettable dining experience. The atmosphere was lively, the grill was expertly managed, and the aromas wafting through the air created a sense of anticipation that only heightened our enjoyment.
The Kalbi is a must-visit for any Korean BBQ enthusiast. With its excellent service, knowledgeable staff about meats and the perfect cook time, juicy pork jowl, high-quality prime short rib, and flavorful marinated prime ribs and pork belly, it has secured its place as a culinary gem in the heart of Fort Lee. There are not many warm kind thoughtful and just all around friendly people anymore
And he restored a bit of faith I have in humanity
Just bringing a smile to my face brightened my day more than he will realize

Read moreIs there really a place this terrible in my life?
On Sunday evening, I went out for dinner with my family, who had come from Korea after a long time. We sat down in a good mood, chatting with each other, and ordered four servings of marinated ribs to start.
Two hours passed. I was still watching the manager struggling to grill the meat, the part-time workers looking helpless, and the owner pretending not to notice. I was absolutely dumbfounded. I was beyond angry, but since I was with my parents, my mother, feeling sorry for the part-time workers, suggested we just leave quickly.
What the so-called manager said was even more ridiculous: “We’ll change the grill to a metal one in two hours.”
For two whole hours, we didn’t even get to eat the meat. Instead, we ended up just eating the side dishes—soybean paste stew, kimchi stew, and steamed eggs with rice—before leaving. I wanted to throw something and storm out, but I held it in.
Then, someone who seemed to be the manager came over and said, “Other restaurants mix pork shoulder with ribs, so the portion looks bigger.”
Do I look like an idiot? I was so close to cursing him out, but I held back in front of my elders. When I asked for the check, he said, “We’ll do better next time.”
This place has absolutely no conscience. The meet quality, the attitude, the customer service, the price, and the staff training—everything was the worst.
I’m attaching photos of the meat and the stews we had to eat for two hours. ARE THOSE GARBAGE? I cannot find the meats in other people's google reviews from this restaurant. These are real meat that they served.
It is not the quality that I was hoping. You guys should shame on this service and attitude and manner.
Please do not say next time we will recommend and be better. Too cliche.. Worst..
Trying the different menu.. and advertising and trying the different one they do not even have a mind to fix and be better.. then please get rid of the other foods on your menu so that people would have the right choice to go other...
