The Placida Pearl — Restaurant in Englewood

Really would give zero stars if possible. Went on a Friday night for a fun atmosphere with friends and family. Bouncer checked our ID’s, we went in and asked for a drink and the bartender, Sabrina, was terrible. First thing out of her mouth was “you need to tell your friend to check her attitude” (she went into the bar, after getting ID’d by the bouncer and headed to the bathroom.) Sabrina proceeded to tell us that she needed to “check all of our ID’s because the bouncers don’t do their jobs” The only saving grace was the DJ, he was amazing and really made the night much better! Also—on our way out someone mentioned not returning to the Pearl and once again, Sabrina told us “good, don’t come back”. Just figured I’d share my family/friends trip to try to have a fun night out but sadly it fell flat because of this establishment.

Embarrassingly bad. Ordered a simple sushi order at 6:15 PM, was told 40 min. A little long but it’s a Saturday night so maybe they’re busy. Nope. I arrived, place is nearly empty. I see a to-go order on the counter and I ask if that’s my order. The long haired bartender who looked clueless said, no. No problem, I order a drink a sit for another 40 min. It’s 7:30 at this point and I’m getting irritated slightly. I’m not a complainer in general so I just asked, if he was sure that the to-go bag I’m sitting next to was my order or not. He said no again only to disappear and come back to grab that same bag to give it to me as if there was nothing wrong. No apology just hands me the order and says “hear ya go”. We are invited to go to this restaurant which looks like it was a night club at 3:00 in the afternoon. We are invited by her friends Diane and Ken from Maine who said they adored the singer at the bar. They also said that everything was 2 for 1 from like 2 o'clock to on. So we were in treat we went it is amazing I will underline amazing. The bartender there we get most days is a singing waitress who is also in major competitions for seen around the world. We went today and I asked her to sing before we left and she sang a song and she sounded as good as Christina aguelera. I have to say I would give this place a 5 star rating based on not only the wait staff but the sing staff and Nothing to take everything with a grain of salt seas were.
