I have eaten here for the last 10 years. I typically only order 2 or 3 items that I like the best, chicken curry, szechuan beef or hunan beef or chicken. I also sometimes get veggie fried rice and spring rolls. All of those items are very good. I had an issue here on 2 occasions when using my debit card where the card was also used by someone in California later that evening or the next day and my bank had to cancel it and reissue me new ones. Since that happened I only use cash there, so problem solved. I have not tried any of their other meals but my Mom likes their egg rolls. Their sweet and sour sauce they make is great. I do ask for my meals spicy, but more often than not there is just barely any burn. They will give you additional spicy sauce to add in if you ask for it. There have been a couple of times over the 10 years when the beef was a little tough, but more often than not it is very well tenderized and the sauces taste very good. If I want much better Chinese I will drive to Sarasota to P.F. Changs or Pei Wei. If I want marginally better Chinese food I will drive to China Buffet in North Port, but for something close and handy, Pings is my choice. I've tried all the other ones here in town and in Gulf Cove and didn't like them at all or got tough beef or fatty chicken and...
Read moreWow! What a bizarre experience! First off, when looking inside the facility it looked like a plastic bubble laboratory with plastic shields running from floor to ceiling on each wall. There was only a small area 3 x 3 ft for picking up take out orders. There was a plexiglass shield that separated the cashier who looked like she was working at the CDC with multiple masks and shields in place. All off this was expected during the height of the pandemic. What wasn’t expected and was unacceptable was the response from the worker behind the shield...”one at a time!” she shouted as I entered the facility. No greeting or explanation, just a short and loud yell. I felt like I was in communist China for a moment. I had my brother finally go in to get the order several minutes later feeling very offended by the hostile treatment. The food was the average greasy fast Chinese food that is expected from these dives. That’s not why I’m posting this review. The owners of this establishment need to remember they are not back in communist China and they should treat their patrons with respect. I understand that we are in the middle of a major health crises but it doesn’t mean that we should be treated like animals herding in and out of a barn. We won’t...
Read moreI frequent other take out places in the area often and decided to try here for something new. Called in my order for General Tsos, pork fried rice, some lomein, and two egg rolls. Total was up about 45$. At the restaurant I had a difficult time trying to ask for the cyan pepper sauce packets because nobody understood my English enough, eventually got what I wanted after being offered a few other sauces in little tupperware containers. Got home and then it sunk in when I looked over the menu... The menu states free rice with such and such, free egg rolls with such and such and a free soda with such and such. All that I apparently qualified for unknowingly and ordered on my own. If I had the paper menu that they sent home with my order before hand I wonder if I could even confirm what I was ordering was coming with the extras because the language barrier. In the end the food was ok, nothing to write home about. I'll stick to my favorite take out just down the street that I get the same for about 30$ and excellent quality no problems...
