My wife and I were in town from 1 1/2 hrs away to do some shopping. We decided to try this place for lunch, mostly because I liked the pictures of the onion rings. I figured if the bbq isn't very good, at least they make their onion rings how I prefer. I had the 3 meat dinner and my wife had the smoked burger. First, I don't think I have ever had a smoked burger before and I tried a bite and was very impressed. That is a unique burger taste from the smoke. I tried the sausage, pulled pork, and sliced brisket. The sausage tasted very unstorelike, if you know what I mean. They didn't buy this from walmart, like other places I have been to. It was tender and had very good flavor. The sausage I give an 8/10. The pulled pork was moist and not too stringy as some other places are. It was very good, but I have had it with a more robust seasoning once or twice before. I also give it an 8/10. The brisket was well trimmed, I didn't have any noticeable fat. It had very good flavor and was also very tender. I also give it 8/10. The onion rings were a 10 for me! Oh, and the BBQ sauce was an 11! I love sweet and it was sweet but also with a little kick. That stuff is excellent! Since we don't live there, I don't know how they compare to other BBQ places. I do know that we probably won't give those other places a try, because we found some excellent BBQ here. I was thoroughly happy today. Maybe some days aren't as good as others, I don't know. But what I had today was excellent. This is why I'm writing this reviews. I read some reviews and they had negative takes on the ribs, which is why I avoided them this time. I may give them a try next time. I think if you give this place a try, the food will be...
Read moreWent here today, my husband, son age 7 and myself. I ordered the meat sampler with green beans and onion rings. I will start by saying our waiter was young but very pleasant and kept our drinks filled. The sweet tea is very good. My husband and I both liked both the onion ring and green beans nothing exceptional but well executed. The fried cheese curds where really good! When my meat plate came out there was a brown hue on everything and not much color. My guess would be an electric smoker. Everything on my plate was dry and you could see where all the meat was previously cooked and then flat grill...no problem except they killed the moisture! Nothing was really great just okay at best. Some of the sausage was so over smoked what would have been really good seasoning was smothered by smoke. We are from Texas but travel all over and we have had a lot of deferent styles of BBQ. There wasn’t anything here I’d be in a rush to...
Read moreThey say the best barbecue joints are off the beaten path. Blazes proves that true.
Comfortable atmosphere with Western decor and the perfect hint of the smoker in the back. Side salad is nicely portioned, lettuce is fresh and crisp. Ranch dressing has the distinct homemade flavor you expect with good barbecue. Onion rings are perfectly crisp, with a pleasant flavor that complements the meats. The coleslaw has a nice sweetness to it. The chopped brisket is tender and juicy. The sauce that comes on it blends perfectly with the hot and spicy sauce. The St Louis ribs come right off the bones and the flavor they get into the meat is amazing! Wrap it all up with some of Grandma's peanut butter pie. It is a rich and sweet treat all in its own Blaze's is worth a treat to yourself if you're in the area, and worth the drove to Enid just to be...
