About a year ago I moved from Oklahoma to Georgia. It was a life changing move that I doubt I'll ever forget. It wasn't a bad move, however, the lack of suitable ice cream & groceries shops had me down. I missed braums, until I came back for a week to visit with my Grandma one year later. It was a short lived experience, to say the least. Waves of indescribable pain washed over me like heat waves on a 110° day. My Grammy offered up comfort and plans to drive me home a day after we landed. She sacrificed a funeral of one of her closest friends and delivering food to those who can't cook for themselves at this time. I will be endlessly greatful.
While on the way out of town, i asked her if we could get braums. It was one of the things that pushed me back to OK. I missed it so much. The people, my friend and family. The scenery and livelyness. The lack of tree. They brought me back to braums. The chain has been a part of my up bringing and leaving it behind with the rest of my memories doesn't seem fair. I'll miss it greatly, and cherish the time we'll have together once I'm back in town. Or when the chain expands enough for me not to return to Oklahoma.
I'll miss it. The quality, the friendliness, and the taste of braums ice cream.
Thank you for being there, even if you had no intent on what...
Read moreBraum's Ice Cream & Dairy has really gone downhill in recent years. The inside is always dirty. Table tops and floors have leftover food on them. The floor feels greasy in the grocery department. Freezers aren't cold enough to keep ice cream frozen hard and it's often melted around the top and sides when you get it home. You often have to wait to check out in the grocery area until a worker notices you standing there with your items. I have not had a good burger here in years and actually have quit eating food here. Burgers were never cooked the same way twice. Raw one time and burned beyond recognition the next. Fries were always cold. They do still make good malts and shakes, if you don't mind waiting a while for them. Appears the entire place is ran by high school kids, most of whom lack customer service skills or the ability to correctly count change back, and just drop it in your hand with the receipt and tell you how much is there. Braum's milk is still the best around and usually the only reason I...
Read moreBraum's has the BEST dairy products in the entire United States...PERIOD. There, I said it. They also make some of the most delicious burgers in the extremely competitive region of the Midwest. It's because Braum's will not open a restaurant beyond the distance a truck driver can drive in a single days shift from their dairy and beef farms. Local, regional champions of fresh delicious beef and dairy. One of the last few places to offer malts on their menu. Definitely better than In-N-Out on the west coast, even better than Ruby's too, but that's the most relevant comparison that can be made for this regional chain. It's like this: Braum's ℠{(In-N-Out X Cold Stone)+(Trader Joe's + Chik-Fil-A)} clean restaurants, fresh produce and meats, skilled grillers, crafty creamers. Kings of midwest...
