Mango Tree Cafe — Restaurant in Enid

I noticed at the front desk that there was a news article that named Mango Tree Café one of the top ten Thai places in Oklahoma. After eating there I see why. How to describe the food? Sophisticated. It's presented with care but not in a snobby-drizzle-of-something-with-inedible-garnish kind of way. Today I tried the Summer Rolls, Chicken Satay, and the Pad See Ew with chicken. It's amazing how they bring, chewy, crunchy, spicy, sweet, and hot all together in one meal. Our server was so welcoming and kind as though she'd known us for years. It was okay, but nothing special in my experience. I ordered the Massaman curry and was not impressed. It had no heat or spiciness, it was bland. I learned later that they apparently can make it spicier on a 1-5 scale, but they didn't ask me if I wanted to do that when I ordered so I guess they assumed I wanted the blandest level. The little spring roll that came with it was pretty tasty though. Didn't get a refill on my drink, but the server was polite. Cleanliness could be improved somewhat. It is rare that I give a place five stars, but the Mango Tree Cafe deserves every one of them. Service was great! Nice and friendly staff, extremely helpful but not intrusive. In every other place I have eaten, staff inevitably walks up just as you have a mouthful of food to ask questions. NOT here! They wait till you finish that bite. The server made a few suggestions, and they were terrific. The Tom Yum soup was delicious. The curry spiced exactly right. The Pad Thai is to die for!
