The hostess was not there when we arrived. We walked in and tried to figure out where to go but several staff hurried past us and we were ignored. Finally we stoped the gentleman who ended up being our server and he directed us to the previously abandoned hostess stand outside. We were seated at a nice shaded table outside. The server was nice enough but perhaps spread a little too thin between tables. The margarita I had been craving all week was a big let down....way too sweet. I sent it back but it wasn’t much better the second time. If you are trying to eat healthy, please do not eat here. The fresh fish is only served fried and they have no vegetables as side options. The atmosphere was lovely but the menu is very limited and more bar style foods. I ordered the strip steak. The flavor was straight SALT!!! The steak was also chewy. Perhaps that was supposed to balance the lack of seasoning in the coleslaw? I ordered mushrooms and onions with my steak... but had to wait 5 minutes for the onions to arrive as well as steak sauce and ketchup. Overall I can say I was disappointed. My tab was $100 for 3 adults and 2 kids. My expectations were higher. No need to go back. I’m glad my parents were happy with their meals. They don’t get to eat out much and I wanted to take them somewhere nice. They were happy.... so I guess that’s...

This was our first visit to The Sloppy Duck & I must say I was disappointed. It's a very nice location & setting with nice views of the marina & harbor. The service was fine , our waitress was very friendly & attentive. The food was another story. My wife ordered the "lump" crab cakes. There was definitely more filler in each cake than lump crab meat. In fact there was hardly any lump crab meat in any of them and they're definitely not worth the $24.95 price. I ordered the chicken parm dinner which is one of the "signature" menu items. The chicken breasts were hand breaded , very tender & tasty but there was literally only about a half of a cup of marinara that didn't come close to covering both of the breasts. The side of pasta was literally about 3/4 of a cup with about 1/4 cup of marinara on top. A woman sitting directly behind me ordered the same entree & hers looked fabulous with plenty of marinara & what appeared to be nearly a full plate of pasta. I just assumed that maybe a trainee was tasked with preparing my entree & failed miserably. Again definitely not worth the $17.95 price. Rather than create a scene & send it back I just consumed what I was served & cut my losses. Probably...

My family and I were in Erie for the day and were looking for some local fare. I own a business and I’m always about supporting local Unfortunately, our experience was really beyond unsatisfactory. I’m posting this mostly because our waitress Megan was phenomenal and she did everything I think in her power to make sure that we were OK We literally waited two hours for our food Another couple came in a half hour after we did and were served. I finally went downstairs to speak with a manager, and the owner approached, and I explained to him what happened. He went back into the kitchen, and literally not even five minutes later our food was upstairs. I’m not sure exactly what happened, but it was unacceptable and they even had the Waitresses bussing their own table.

We weren’t even comped one of our dinners and the bill with tip came to approximately $140.

A few takeaways It looks like the bar was really the place to be, and they had live music that I would come back for

The restaurant upstairs was dirty and outdated

The food was mediocre at best for the price. Will not go back unless it’s to hear live music. Really disappointing because it’s in a cool spot...

Also Sloppy Duck, same restaurant, was not good at all. The waitress was excellent. The view of the marina is nice, although not where we would have seen the sunset. The drinks were made with very cheap alcohol. The salad was crisp iceberg, passable. His chicken Parm was a thin breaded half breast with a bit of mild tomato sauce and a melted slice of mozzerella. It was just ok. What was very disappointing was the chef's special, sole served on asparagus risotto. The fish was fried so hard on one side I actually struggled to cut it with my butter knife, way overdone. The risotto was milky, unseasoned and bland. The manager never even came to the table to ask what was wrong. They did remove it from the bill & the waitress tried to offer something else, but I was done trying their cook's offerings. There was no offer of a dessert or drink, not that I really wanted one, but basically, I had no supper but a small side salad.

Ordered the Mahi Mahi and cole slaw. I only eat fish so I was excited and it being by the lake, I had high expectations. I'd rather have gone to Long John Silvers or McDonald's for a fish product. Dry as a bone. Crumbled in a bad way. Over cooked. No flavor. No seasoning of any kind. The slaw tasted like I was eating nothing but lemon. I liked my ice water. Pass. Never again. Everyone felt sick afterwards too. I had bad cramps after, my boyfriend ordered a burger and said the same thing, no flavor, no taste & had a belly ache, his mother got sick after. Maybe it's a place for drinks and that helps hide the taste of the actual food. Don't let the fact that it's along the lake fool you. They don't know how to cook fish. I left everything on my plate. Huge waste of $70.

Asked for any seat that had a view of the water, the hostess sat and thought looked at the seating chart then said is the tiki bar okay? Sure, brought us to our seat and before we could even say where’s the water, RAN away. So that fence was our view, we should’ve left then. Food & drinks were mediocre (daughters mixed pasta in picture) and not worth the price on top of very slow (time spent there was close to two hours) as well as having a table next to us sloppy drunk and their drinks seemed to be coming lightning fast. Overall would not recommend for anyone visiting, unless it’s someone you don’t like and want them to have a bad time.
