Los Primos Mexican Store & Taqueria — Restaurant in Erie

If you are looking for simple, flavorful, and large portions for a decent price then look no further. I’m first generation Mexican and I am a very hard critic when it comes to Mexican food…and before this, I’d 100% say there is no authentic Mexican in Erie, PA. However not the case here at los primos! I immediately felt like I was in Mexico with my family. The tacos weren’t over complicated white washed trash that you normally get with “Mexican”. Instead it’s exactly want you want with a small menu of tacos, quesadillas, burritos y tortas.

So if you live in Erie, PA and want a taste of Mexico (or that Mexican friends moms cooking) than stop here.

Lived in Yuma, AZ for years and since moving back to Erie haven't been able to find anywhere that has legitimate Mexican food/products. We stopped here this past Sunday to check it out and were not disappointed. The place immediately took us back to all the little stores in AZ. The product selection here is top notch and has the good brands you won't be able to find anywhere else. We grabbed 3 tacos (lengua, birria, chorizo), menudo, picked up some al pastor from the deli and added two tamales. The food was amazing and we watched the tamales come in fresh and homemade from one of the gentlemen. These were hands down some of the best we've had. We love our Sunday menudo and so far this is only place we've been able to locate it in Erie.

Checked this place out and was absolutely impressed! Located right next to the Mexican grocery store is this taqueria food truck that serves fresh, quality tacos. Tried a couple of meat options (lomo, el pastor, carne asada and chorizo) and all are delicious. I really love the fact that they let you pick and choose your own toppings with a variety of sauces and vegetables.

The staff is very nice and friendly. Don't forget to check out the grocery store as there are various Mexican goodies as well as produce.
