I saw the sign while driving, and decided to stop at a later date. I regret not stopping on that first day. The building may be that of a typical buffet restaurant, but inside, the smell of rice, coconut, and spices will blow you away! Let alone once you actually get your meal! Everything was freshly made and adjusted to our spice preference. My brother and I started with plain naan, crispy and chewy and a must-have comfort food. We then split their Mattar Paneer and Malai Kofta, and the flavor -no hyperbole- made me tear up from how delicious it was. The Paneer was a 9/10, with its smooth and spicy sauce, soft peas, and delicious cheese, but the Malai Kofta - oh my gosh the MALAI KOFTA. I had to stop on the first bite to savor it, before I even tried a dumpling. The sauce was so rich, so creamy, so dense with a variety of flavor. The dumplings just added on to that amazing sauce, lightly crispy and oh so savory. This is a 10/10 dish that I will be returning for every time I'm in Erie. On top of that, the service was just great. I'm sure I'm a bit biased because we were the only ones there at the time, but our waitress was very accommodating with turning their house-brewed chai into a cold latte for us to combat the summer heat, even though they aren't a coffeehouse. The mango juice I had tasted freshly squeezed. If we had had room left in us for dessert, we would have, but even with our appetites, my brother and I only just managed to clean our plates. Tandoori Hut is a hidden gem of Erie, and anyone who passes up on it is missing out on an amazing culinary experience. I'm not even made I missed the buffet by 30 minutes - it was worth every penny and then some. Now, to make an excuse to make the 45 minute drive to...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 out of 5 stars)
I recently visited the Tandoori Restaurant in Erie, PA, and I must say that I was truly impressed by the authentic Indian cuisine and the warm, inviting atmosphere.
From the moment I walked in, the aroma of aromatic spices and freshly baked naan filled the air, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. The service was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu.
The appetizers were a great start to the meal. We tried the vegetable samosas, which were crispy on the outside and filled with flavorful, perfectly spiced vegetables. The accompanying tamarind and mint chutneys added a delightful tanginess to each bite.
For our main courses, we ordered the butter chicken and palak paneer, both of which were exceptional. The butter chicken was tender and cooked in a rich, creamy tomato sauce that had just the right amount of heat. The palak paneer was a delightful combination of soft paneer cheese and a flavorful spinach sauce. Both dishes were accompanied by steaming hot, fluffy basmati rice and garlic naan.
To finish off the meal, we indulged in some gulab jamun and mango lassi. The gulab jamun was soft and syrupy, while the mango lassi was a refreshing and creamy treat that perfectly balanced the flavors of the meal.
Overall, I highly recommend Tandoori Restaurant in Erie, PA, for anyone seeking an authentic and delicious Indian dining experience. The combination of incredible food, attentive service, and a cozy atmosphere make it a must-visit...
Read moreGoing out for Indian food has always been a staple, no matter where we lived in the world. This was by far the worst experience. The restaurant itself has an uncomfortable atmosphere and was run-down looking. Food was okay but not freshly made. My sauce had a soup like consistency, very different from my past experiences (I always order the same), and most likely had glutamate in it, because I had a reaction to it right away. Overall taste was good though. Served on plastic plates!!! Service was a tad unpleasant, as they came to our table every 10 minutes, asking if we wanted anything else, trying to take plates, wouldn't let us enjoy the food in peace. Then, asking three times if we wanted to-go boxes, each time we said no, they still brought them. The whole time it seemed like they needed the table, and tried to rush us out. Had hoped this would be our new go-to place but now I don't feel like I ever want to go back. Everything else could have been overlooked, but the pre-made food...
