I have been dying to try this place because it is close to home and I absolutely love Mediterranean food, though I have not had a lot of it in Erie. I got the vegetarian platter for myself and honestly everything was good except for the main part of it, which was the falafel. I don’t know if it’s just something I’m not familiar with, but I have never had falafel without fresh herbs. Any time I’ve had falafel it’s green on the inside because of all the parsley or cilantro or both but these were just like yellow, they almost looked like cornbread. I was so perplexed by this that I actually looked online to see whether there are recipes for falafel without herbs but did not find any at all. It was crispy and dense, but absolutely bland without any fresh greenery. I wanted to score the food higher because I did like everything else ok, but that was the main part of my dish and it felt pretty lacking. Plus it was a little extra disappointing because I was getting some to bring home to my family who have never had it before, so not only did I order the vegetarian plate with falafel, I ordered extra as well so we had a lot of falafel that was not at all what we...
Read moreReally wanted to like this place so I could have decent gyro close to home. Unfortunately I guess they don’t do beef and lamb for gyro just beef but they do lamb for kabob? Anyway the food wasent terrible but the seasoning was a little lacking compared to the usual Mediterranean places I frequent. The portion was smaller than I was expecting for a 13$ plate. Fries were good not too crunchy and not mushy so there’s that. Also didn’t have your usual gyro fries toppings. Fry base with garlic sauce and beef lamb meat with optional veggies. Don’t think I’ll be ordering here again unless they update the fries. It’s good but could be so much better with a little tweak to the options. A good example of this would be gyro stop of the west coast. Perfect in every way as far as meat veggies fry crispness and sauce....
Read moreThe past few times when I came here in the past month I couldn’t tell if I was eating shawarma or if I was biting into a meat version of a cinnamon roll and having cardamom tea all in one. The pickle portions on the side now are cut like paper thin and you can see right through it. This place is has definitely changed from the past 6 months the shawarma isn’t seasoned like traditional shawarma anymore it seems the cook is craving cinnamon rolls and cardamom tea while he’s seasoning the meat. It’s way over spiced to where you can barely finish it and the prices have Increased but now you are making portions way smaller which realistically doesn’t...
