Don't even think about it. Terrible service and bad food. Never received tortilla that came with our meals. No chips refill. Salsa tastes like water. Shrimp overcooked and rubbery (how do you eff up shrimp when it's in your name?!!) Shrimp with cheese wrapped in dates came out with no cheese at all. My entree had a pool of oil sitting on the bottom of the plate (I didn't even get fried fish)...gross. Every other entree came out at different times (more than 10 min apart). First person was done before last person's food came out. Food was salty and we only got water after three reminders. Never again. I want my two hours on a Friday night back. To add insult to injury even though my party had split checks they added auto gratuity. Haha! Jokes are on us huh

Dont understand why this place gets negative reviews. Small Hispanic-themed restaurant out in Escondido amongst several shops. Atmosphere is basic, but cozy and not too loud at all. Food is amazingly delicious and I understand the price concerns, but despite the portions the food does not disappoint. Your given attitude is a received attitude, and with my partner being of the backround; herself and our waitress communicated with no issue, and our waitress was absolutely helpful and kind, and ensured we were set with our meal. I have come here 3 times within the past 3 years; one in which we have ran into Bam Margera! If famous figures can recognize good food, so should the locals.

I love this place, the food is great and the service too. Everyone here works hard to make you feel comfortable and happy. I have visited the place with friends to watch sports and we always have a wonderful time. Also, I have been there alone and it was cool too, the bartenders make conversation and double check all the time if you want more chips with hot sauce ( those are free). If I could recommend something from the menu it would be the "Pulpo a las brasas", "Coctel de Camaron y Pulpo", "Camarones revolcados" and offcourse all the variations of tostadas that they have on the Menu. I would recommend this place to everyone.

It’s a shame to have to write this but we were there last night when the server at the time only had 4 tables, she came greeted us took our orders and disappeared for about 15 minutes. She comes back with our drinks which we saw were sitting at the bar ready way before she dropped them off so the drinks were watered down from the melted ice both times we ordered drinks. Then 25 minutes pass and we ask if our food is almost ready cause we’re starving, she acknowledges the question and reassures us it should be out soon. After 45 minutes of waiting she comes back around and asks if we want to put anything in before last call and we say no but we’re still waiting on our food. She proceeds to act clueless to the situation and admits she forgot to put in our order only after I asked her upfront if she forgot. She was not taking accountability for her mistakes and to make it even worse she never said sorry, was not apologetic at all, the most we got from her was a “my bad” type of response. And to continue with this horrible night, she never told a manager or any sort of person that can help the situation, so absolutely nothing was done about this situation. We ended up leaving hungry with an empty stomach and nothing was ever done to compensate for our waste of time and business. Even if it’s your first shift working in the industry, that should never slide and I think it’s wild they’d hire someone that has zero self awareness and sympathy for their customers or she was on something cause she seemed a little out of it. She’s tall slim light brunette, n should not be...

If it could give this less than one star I would. We get here and order drinks, it takes forever to get our drinks, and one of the waters were missing and we had to ask again for it after she finally came back to our table. We had to ask for chips after we ordered and noticed that everyone else in the restaurant already had some. The chips finally came and they were hard as a rock, overcooked and super stale. 3 of us ordered fajitas. When we got them, we didn't have utensils, tortillas, or the side of sour cream and guacamole. She tells us they are washing the silverware and asks if we can use plastic which they never brought. By the time we got silverware and tortillas our rice and beans were cold. We were half way through our meal and my brother still didn't have his food. We asked for the manager but he was not in yet and never came by the time we left. When we asked when he would be in she said between 2-2:30 it was 2:30 already. We told her not to bring the taco plate, sour cream, or guacamole. We got our checks and other than the food we never got, nothing else was taken off. I had to ask if there was anything else she could do and she said she would call her manager. One good thing is they took 20% off, but not until after I had asked. Overall the food was ok, when hot... Overall service was horrible, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. The waitress was very nice and a lot of things were out of her control, but she definitely could have handled it...

I only rated one star because the fish tacos and Michiladas are good. In fact, the fish tacos are probably the most savory I have yet to taste. HOWEVER, the service is a five star horrible!!! The manager/owner seems to be on the ball with above and beyond customer satisfaction. I wish he would put that energy into his employees. I have experienced El Camaron a few times. In between all those experiences I have had to get out of my chair several times for things we needed water, napkins, extra silverware ect only to find my server having a social club meeting in the corner of the restaurant. On top of that, the few times we have eaten there, they seem to always screw up our orders by bringing drinks we did not order and not bringing drinks we did order. The last experience I had they brought out our food and not my sons until we were finished eating and all he had was plain carne asada tacos which was served cold. The price stamp is too high for avarage food which could probably be balanced out with over the top service which sadly they don't even hit decent or avarage...
