The service was friendly and did put in their variety of salsas as asked, but that's all I can say that's good. I had heard good things about this restaurant and I've lived here on and off for my whole life so I wanted to try it. I ordered cheese quesadillas (no meat) and I asked to try their homemade hot sauce. I also asked about a "diabla" (not diablo 🤷🏼♀️) hot sauce a friend had told me was extra hot there that I wanted to try, but was told they don't have that, and that they never have. It's strange because my friend is from here, lives here, eats tgere, and says they do! That was confusing. I picked the order up within 15 mins tops after I ordered (they had said it'll be ready in 10). It included a wilted pico de gallo (which everywhere else I've eaten here in N NM has had fresher or non-soggy pico de gallo), an interesting green salsa (creamy 🤷🏼♀️), and their red was Tapatío (packaged sauce). They did serve with avocado slices and sour cream on the side (the avocado was fresh, that was nice), but also bacon on the side?? It just was very unappetizing. The thing that bugged me the most was the quesadilla was cold and the cheese barely melted. And the funky salsa selection. And this is in New Mexico? Was very surprised and underwhelmed. Maybe the other dishes there are different and better, but I don't plan to be back - and I love to support local businesses. Plus, I'm not a vegetarian, but what is up with the bacon when I asked for cheese only?! Lol - overall, it just wasn't worth the money. Except the bacon (which I didn't ask for :) and...
Read moreMariscos used to be all family owned and operated back when they started up on Cordova Road in Santa Fe. I'm not sure if they are still family owned and operated or if they have franchised. That in itself is a compliment due to the consistency in food quality and service. I absolutely love this place no matter whether I visit Espanola or Santa Fe, I can always depend on having a pleasant experience. My favorite on the menu is the discadas because they can be shared on a date and makes it that much more special in a lady and the tramp sort of way. If you're not into sharing, there are plenty of amazing options on the menu.
They are clean, pleasant and efficient here. I appreciate their dedication in serving there community. I have been to other cities lately where it is nearly impossible to find a meal after 6:00pm. As a person who travels a lot, I am extra grateful that this place is part of what makes home a wonderful...
Read moreThis place is a gem! We just arrived in the area for my husband’s job at Los Alamos National Lab. We randomly ended up at this restaurant and are so happy that we did. We walked in and were in love with the brightly painted festive atmosphere. Upon sitting we were immediately served chips with refried beans and two types of Pico De Gallo. The beans were flavorful and the Pico De Gallo was fresh. There was regular Pico De Gallo and also another delicious type that I had never encountered. The kind and attentive waitress informed us that it was made with avocado and cream. For my meal, I had the Tostadas De Ceviche. They were awesome and included a lot of fresh veggies and avocado. Super healthy. Not sure what my husband had but I stole some corn off of his plate and it was amazing. My glass of wine was filled to the brim (literally 🎉) but this place also felt super family-friendly. If you are in the area, don’t miss out...
