Sam Sylk's Chicken And Fish Euclid — Restaurant in Euclid

I had been wanting to try the fish at Sam Sylk's because I heard great things in year's past, however I had been skeptical to try the fish at this location. However, a few months ago, my mom's friend was raving about this place in Euclid with good fish. I told my mom that this was the only place based on her friend's street directions. Still reluctant, I took my mom for fish. When we walked in the carry-out location was clean and there were two or three tables with chairs but the atmosphere was not ideal for seat down dining. Perhaps, barstools and tall tables would work in that location for mad dash eating, especially for the fish sandwiches, which we ordered.

We, of course ordered carry-out. The sandwiches were wrapped in foil, I opened it just a little in the car to see how well the fish was cooked. The fish looked golden and crisp, however, I did not notice the tomatoes on the sandwiches. Who does that?! (they put tomatoes on a fried fish sandwich, so what...the sandwich would be soggy. By the time we arrived back to Lake County (less than ten minutes away), the bread and fish was soggy and the fries were dry and cold. With great disappointment we discarded the garbage...

August 2021: It is becoming difficult to find good whole chicken wings that are lightly battered, fried crispy, and without feathers on them. I heard about Sam Sylk's for while and finally gave them a shot.

Pros: Freshly cooked chicken prepared to meet my expectations. Spacious lobby area with seating area for the patrons--only takeout during this time. Customers were respecting the mask mandate and the 6 foot social distancing criteria. No arguments inside and no beggars outside. They accept cash and credit cards. Good soul food that was seasoned well😋

Cons: The prices have risen due to the pandemic. Almost $2.35 per whole chicken wing is a bit steep. My understanding is that all restaurants have increased their prices and/or scaled back portions. No biggie...they have to stay competitive. The 5 wings (no sauce) and fries deal cost almost $10. It was really busy in there. I don't know if they allow call-ins for ordering. I prefer to do online, electronic ordering when the restaurant is...

Just ordered 2 polish boys for myself and my son, meat taste funny, normally good, however called to report to the restaurant just to give them a heads up to check product, talked to 2 different people 1 being a manager.. looked at meat said it smelled ok and that’s was it, said he would talk to manager before him because it was on her shift and hung up. Both me and my son are saying the same thing, we both ain’t lying because we eat them frequently.. and probably will continue to eat at the restaurant because the food is good, however I wasn’t looking for a refund, but to just inform them. Conversation was not handled properly and the manager could at least offered a refund or even a credit for a future purchase. Normally the workers are very pleasant when I walk in the restaurant, over the phone not so much today …I’ve never had any problems or complaints Just do better at trying to keep good customers.
