I came in with my family we ordered 2 appetizers crawfish tails and gator bites the crayfish tails were terrible when I mentioned it the waitress stated yea ours have a stronger flavor than most, it wasn't strong they were going bad I've worked in numerous seafood and steak houses they were bad I made my family leave them the gator bites were good a little tougher than most but still edible my meal was catfish fries and slaw the fish was hardly batterd and under cooked fish should be light and flaky and not have grey skin left on it it was under spiced and not what I expect from captain John's we eat at the location in mcalester often the food has never disappointed at that location I didn't eat my meal my son left 85% of his my wife and daughters meals were fine they had the red snapper and a kids shrimp meal my son also had catfish I mentioned to the waitress that the crawfish were bad and the catfish was poorly cooked batterd and seasoned she offered to comp mine I told her it wasn't necessary that we weren't asking for a discount she said she would speak to the manager and when she brought the bill they had taken mine off which was great but I still had to go else where to get an edible meal before...

Went with my parents and several siblings and their families so we were a pretty large group. We found parking just fine. Even though it was busy they quickly seated us outside, put tables together for us out on their great back deck porch, and we all quickly devoured the delicious hot bread they placed on the table.

For our size group we ordered in a timely manner and our kids enjoyed feeding the ducks off the deck while we waited on the food. Talk about great views from the back deck! We really enjoyed it.

The food wasn’t long in coming out and I really enjoyed my fried catfish and shrimp! As a former okie, it had been too long since I had some of this! The hush puppies were delicious and so was the jalapeño cornbread! To slide into to home base on the healthy side of things, I had broccoli as well and it was very good.

I’d highly recommend this place to anyone who’s interested in a great place to eat with...

Visited 3-24-23 Busy place for lunch today, so food took a bit longer to come out than expected. However the staff was friendly and kept checking on us, bringing rolls and water if needed. Wife ordered Blackened Fish Sandwich which came with slaw on sandwich and fries. She said the fish was crisp, and not too spicy, but the slaw was sweet. Fries were good I ordered Cajun Jambalaya Pasta. It was a big bowl with a huge piece of cornbread. All of the meat was well cooked and seasoned, the sauce tasted a lot like a Cajun Alfredo and the pasta was perfect. The cornbread! A four inch square, looks like it has jalapenos and red peppers in it, very moist. Those with tamer tastes might find it all too spicy, but it was great for me. I shared some with my wife, who asked how I always seem to pick the best dishes at a new restaurant. I guess she liked my order more...
