Supporting local is of upmost importance to me, so i was very excited to find out there was a quaint little jewelry store around the corner from my house. The first time I stopped in it was a pleasant experience, I just browsed around and looked at the (beautiful!) jewelry and left. For my birthday in April I received a white gold/diamond necklace and had been wearing it for six months straight. When I broke the dainty chain I immediately thought to take it to the local jeweler. Kelly, the owner of Zavarri told me it would be at least a week so I was surprised when she called me back within a couple hours. I knew right away when I put the necklace on something wasn’t right. It was noticeably longer (enough to get stuck in my bosom), a thicker chain, and it pulled my hair out at the nape of my neck, which it never had before. I called Kelly and asked if maybe she had given me another chain by accident. We are humans right? Mistakes happen. She immediately became defensive and said, “I wouldn’t do that, I could fix it for ten bucks and good luck finding out what happened to your chain.” I briefly questioned myself so I did some research. I found the original sales receipt and compared it to photographs from my birthday and the six months following and confirmed this was not my chain. Kelly gave me a different chain back. I brought an 18 inch chain and she gave me a 21 inch chain. I went to another jeweler for a second opinion to see if the chain I now have is even white gold and shortly after I received a threatening phone call and text message. She even went as far to say, “as a courtesy to other jewelers she was going to tell every jewelry store in town about me.” Which is baffling to say the least. I had come back to her in good faith thinking It was a simple mix up, only to be met with immediate back lash and her being incredibly rude. My boyfriend who bought me the necklace also attempted to speak with her and he could hardly get a word as she insisted it was our fault. This has been one of the WORST customer experiences I’ve EVER had. Her response was beyond rude and bordered on harassment. The worst part is I still don’t have my necklace back. Please, if you value your pieces do not take it...
Read moreExcellent service and very fair pricing. A new watch battery brought me in, and it was replaced in minutes. The jeweler also polished off a stubborn spot on a silver ring that I wasn't able to clean myself, and did a minor repair on a gold chain necklace. This place is a jewelry store up front with a workshop in the back, and it looks like quite a lot of custom work can be done here. The owner seemed really open to special requests. While I was in the store, I also looked at the rings and other jewelry for sale, and this store has an impressive array of diamonds, especially engagement rings of all styles. Because I was so happy with the wonderful service, and the honest assessments of my jewelry, I am definitely returning for any repair service or other jewelry needs. I really like how this store is a locally owned small business, and that the owner is very fair, friendly and supports the...
Read moreAfter having replaced the batteries in 2 watches, I noticed that one of the watches didn't work after one month. When I returned with the receipt asking that it be replaced because the battery was obviously faulty, I was offended and basically called a liar. She denied that she did the work even with the evidence. I further described the other watch for the other battery. She also had commented on my custom ring - out of her league. She offered to exchange the battery even though she wouldn't take responsibility for the work. I wasn't asking charity. I had paid for something that was faulty and requested an exchange. She refused on accepting the obvious. It's unfortunate to encounter sales employed who don't know how to admit errors and treat customers in such a way! I will be sure to spread the word on this...
