Hacienda — Restaurant in Evans

2023-07: I recently went to dine in mid-afternoon. I was a little shocked at the looks of the inside. There appears to be ongoing construction/renovations going on and the floor was sticky (you could hear every step you took). We got our drinks quickly but it took awhile for the server to find take our order. Once he did, the food came out quickly and was hot and tasted good. Changing my 5 star to a 3 star based on my latest experience. Hope they get the place cleaned up soon, as I've always enjoyed everything when I've had food delivered.

2022-05: My review is based on having a third party delivery service deliver my food. I have not dined in at Hacienda. I recently ordered some food not long before they closed, some mushroom quesadillas and carnitas. The order was ready quickly and got to me hot and fresh. I had added some ingredients to the mushroom quesadillas, which were all accounted for and the quesadillas were really good. The carnitas come with a side of rice and beans, and I had asked for extra beans instead of any rice. My order ended up with the rice still and no beans, which I contacted DoorDash about, as is "procedure", and a comparable credit was given to my account. Nonetheless, even though I'm not a big rice person, the rice was was delicious and I had no problem eating all of it. The carnitas were extremely moist and flavorful. All orders also come with the customary chips and salsa, which were also tasty. Bottom line, I was extremely pleased with the quality and portions of everything. This is not only a "Mexican restruant"but the most fakeist one out there,they don't have authentic food i expected when i received my food. My first impression when i enter this restruant was awful because how dirty it is and how smelly it is not only that but they dont seem to cook their food right, i orderd carnitas and it was very dry it tasted like if it came out of the microwave. Many people expect a restruant to be "clean" and "fresh food" but many dont get that because some staff that work any specific restruant have no motivation what so ever. I feel sorry for the people that comes to this restraunt and had bad experinse like me truly its the owner fault for this catastrophe and the lack of his own job or i could say "his part to keep things straight and clean." I would not recomend this restruant because the lack of staff, the food and the environment around you filled with dust as well smelly odor. Went with the wife because we had a craving for mexican and not tex-mex. First off, the atmosphere here is perfect! It's not loud and screaming and in your face like most places in Augusta. It was chill, soft mexican music playing and not a ton of people shouting to be heard. The decorations were also quite nice, and not garish.

I had the Huilotas, quail in a spicy sauce with rice, beans, and flour tortillas. I admit I have no idea how to eat quail, but I learned and it was beyond delicious. The hot sauce was not joking, but it wasn't so over the top that the heat drowned out the flavor of the sauce.

My wife's carne asada burrito was also a treat, it seems. We also enjoyed dessert - Myself the Xango which was rich and creamy and oh so delectable. Wife had sopapilla which was described as "perfect".

Total bill was much lower than I thought it would be for two people having an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Will come again and...
