Oh my! This might be the best Jamaican restaurant in Chicago, and its located in Evanston. Ordered a bunch of stuff last week, came back this weekend for more, that's how good their food is. Had the curry goat and that was well seasoned, moist, and delicious. We also had the oxtail and those were tender, seasoned to perfection, and scrumptious. We had the jerk chicken as well and that was moist and seasoned well. We had the chicken foot soup and it was 'transport me back to Kingston' good. We had the red pea soup this time and that was beautiful! My goodness they know how to cook in this restaurant. Beautiful food and beautiful friendly family running it. The restaurant was very off putting when I walked in. The smell made me uneasy and it looked very cluttered in the kitchen and dirty. The service was good due to the person who took my order being nice. I decided to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt because a lot of restaurants that don’t look that great, have really amazing food. However, this was not the case. The food was disgusting and the reviews of how good the food is, are very misleading. Spice Restaurant was recommended to me by a friend . I was hesitant because of bad experiences with other Jamaican restaurants..One day I took the dive and must say that Dillion is a gentleman .. The food is divine and made with passion and love! Where there is love, everything is done perfectly!
