Meals on Wheels Northeastern Illinois — Local services in Evanston Township

They are very slow to return phone calls after voicemails or emails, but very nice and helpful once you connect. Due to their slow response, it took a long time to get my meals set up, several weeks actually, so be prepared for this. The meals are expensive at $10.00 each, that's $20.00 a day for one "hot" and one cold meal. They currently have no financial assistance available. Unfortunately, I found the meals were not to my taste (too much brown rice and couscous) and not worth the steep price so I put the meals on hold for now. Also, very skimpy portions especially in proteins like chicken. I hope that they have a Fall Menu and that it is better than the current Spring Menu. The volunteer who delivered my meals...
