Jalisco Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Evanston

We are not locals, just visiting the area, and picked this restaurant based solely on reviews and pictures of the food, we were very pleased with the results.

The entire staff is kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, and the restaurant is clearly ran efficiently, cleanly, and swiftly, because of this.

The food is excellent and priced right. The menu items have good descriptions and the serving staff were gracious to answer further queations.

The salsa and chips were fresh and we were offered refills. Our meals were also fresh, delicious, and generously portioned. Service remained excellent and attentive throughout our entire meal.

We highly recommend the chicken and steak fajita skillet, steak tacos, and anything smothered in their savory enchilada sauce! The guacamole is excellent too.

I took a picture of the salsa but when the food arrived it was so good we ate it all before remembering to take more pictures!

We were recommended to try this place by peak vapor in Evanston and oh my was he dead on with his recommendation. We got there just before 8(830 closing time) and it was really busy but we got seated immediately. The staff was amazing and quick to get our drinks and food order taken. After what felt like 2 minutes or food came out hot and fresh and we couldn't believe how fast they were. My gf got the chili rellenó and enchilada plate and it was delicious and i went with the waitress' recommendation of the Monterey chicken and beef plate and there was so much food I had to take half of it home and I usually eat whatever is on my plate. Lol. The cost was lower than expected as well. 10/10 recommend. We will definitely be back next time we are...

Small and looks run down from the outside, but inside is where the magic happens. Place is clean friendly and a buzz of activity when I went which was about 6:30pm. They obviously spend their efforts to make great food! The servers were friendly and moving fast but we're always available if you needed something. We had the molcajete and tacos al pastor (which weren't on the menu). Everything had great flavor and just right on the portion sizes. Finished it off with fried ice cream for dessert which again was just the perfect size, not huge like other places like to do.
