My husband is truck driver and 2 weeks ago he had a rough day and struggled to get to a quality destination for his sleep time. He saw this diner in the distance and started walking toward it, and while we were talking I looked it up and saw that they'd close in 5 mins. I sprung into action and called to ask if they'd let him come in and take something to go so he could have a decent, hot meal in his truck. To my surprise, they said yes! Well to my husband's surprise, even though they were closed, they invited him to sit down and be served properly. My eyes well up as I type this to know that kindness and service like this still exists. Well it turns out the owner is a former trucker!!! My husband ordered the country fried steak dinner and said it was absolutely fantastic. They never rushed him and they treated him so well. This is now his permanent stop when he's on this route and now he plans to stop in Evanston and park in the spacious trucker parking that Jody's provides everytime he goes this way.

Last night he stopped in for dinner and had a stuffed porkchop that featured homemade stuffing, with 2veggies. Corn is corn, but the broccoli was perfectly cooked and not mushy. His meal was fantastic and he felt good about his food choice health wise.

This place is a trucker gem! Thanks for being so good to my hubby when he's away and I can't cook or care for him! I can't wait to go on a ride along and eat your wonderful food!...

First, the salad. This is the kind of restaurant that makes me feel like the locals love it for its breakfast meals, burgers, comfort foods. I can't describe how hesitant I was to order a salad because lettuce felt out of place here. The waitress said it was her favorite but was she just saying that? Well, the Chicken Mandarin Salad was absolutely perfect. Just iceberg lettuce but not a single piece that I would have thrown aside because I am the world's pickiest lettuce eater. Loved the ingredients. Even the salad dressing that was very unusual had me liking it by the end. This was our second visit. The first time we walked in was on a day that Evanston was crowded and so was the restaurant. Upon entering, I had the it's-crowded-so-it-must-be-good thought but the first impression wasn't convincing. It's one huge room that seems kind of strange at first, yet somehow manages not to feel crowded. Whatever we ordered that first time was good enough to bring us back again. This time Husband ordered a Stuffed French Toast Combo with eggs and ham. It all looked good to me, especially the French Toast with fresh fruit on top and whipped cream, and he ate every bite. Friday lunch was a bit crowded when we arrived but a lot less crowded by 2:00pm when we left. Reasonable prices. Slight discount for...

I came here for breakfast after working a week in Fort Bridger, I saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. Here are my thoughts. We will start with the food, the portions are large, and the price is competitive for other diners. The eggs needed salt and pepper. Same as the hash browns. But the hash browns were over all good. The biscuit was dry in some spots and good in the other. The fried steak was good! Everything could use a little more seasoning. The temperature was hot! Which is good! The service.. the service was alright, the waitress I got wasn’t very attentive, and didn’t want to hold conversation. I only spoke with her 3 times and it was while saying thank you. The waiter on the other hand that was attending to other customers was Amazing, he went out of his way to make sure I had coffee even though I wasn’t his table. He dressed the part and was clean. Unlike the others. The building was old and could use an update, and a good clean. Behind the kitchen from what I saw wasn’t the cleanest. And the doors were left open for outside. There was no room for parking and the parking lot does not fit large trucks as advertised I’m a little disappointed in the attitude of the establishment, but overall it was alright. I might consider going again to try something new if I’m back...

Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you - Jody's Diner in Evanston is a hidden gem! Conveniently located just off I-80, this place is perfect for a quick and delicious breakfast or lunch. When we first walked in, we were struck by the bustling atmosphere and the delicious smells coming from the kitchen. The diner was packed with locals, which is always a good sign! We were seated quickly, and our server was incredibly friendly and helpful. She recommended the Smothered Burrito and the "Not So Philly" Cheese Steak, and we were so glad we took her advice! My burrito was packed with flavor - sausage, eggs, onions, and cheese all wrapped in a giant tortilla and covered in a delicious Colorado-style chili sauce. It came with a side of perfectly crispy hash browns and was absolutely huge! My wife's cheesesteak was cooked to perfection with tender steak tips, grilled peppers and onions, and melted mozzarella cheese. It came with your choice of several varieties of French fries. She's a bit of a cheesesteak connoisseur, and she said this one was definitely a winner. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the large portions. If you're ever driving through Evanston and need a delicious and satisfying meal, don't hesitate to stop at Jody's Diner. You won't be disappointed!

After camping up Mirror Lake I decided to take the long way home and to stop in Evanston Wyoming for lunch. Google gave great reviews of this place and I wasn’t sure if I wanted breakfast or lunch so #JodysDiner offered both. I really wanted to try something unique that I couldn’t get everywhere, #FriedGreenBeans jumped out at me and I loved them. Great green bean flavor with a nice batter. They came with a nice dipping sauce to lubricate the fried goodness. I then ordered an #OpenFacedSandwich I love a nice brown gravy and grilled onions so the #HotHamburger checked all those boxes. Of course I had to get the open faced burger with a side of #OnionRings They were battered and deep fried golden brown yumminess. I enjoyed the meal with good #Coffee to help fuel me and the long drive home. I’d stop by Jody’s Diner again when eating in Evanston.
