Donatos Pizza — Restaurant in Evansville

We originally liked this place and the pizza but after going back a second and third time we did not like the service or the product. The second time the pizza had so much sauce that we could not taste any of the other toppings. So for our third visit we opted for no pizza sauce and picked the olive oil option they offered. When we went to pick up our order they gave us part of our order. We told them we were missing some items and they said they missed it and would make them and they did. We got home with all of our items and since we had to wait for the missing food the items they already had made were cold which would have been fine we figured we would just heat it up a little in the oven but we looked at it and the bottom was completely black it was so burnt. The pizza they made while we waited did not have the correct toppings either. When I called them back to tell them that it was burnt they said they know it does that sometimes. I will say the Donatos frozen pizzas from the grocery store are much better than what this...

My Total for 1 large pizza, a dessert, a Dr Pepper & 1 dozen cookies was $66.00 (Before tip!!!) 😱 They didn’t give me a price on the phone, and I didn’t think to ask so I was shocked when I saw that price. I asked if the cookies were cheaper by the Dozen, and I was told there was a price break at a dozen, with that price I’m pretty sure there was NO price break and also, the cookies were Pre Made, individually wrapped Cookies... I never would have bought a Dozen prewrapped cookies from a pizza place, so that would have been a nice heads up like “hey these aren’t fresh baked like our other deserts. Do you still want a dozen?” I like that they push for their pizza boxes to be recycled but it kind of goes backwards on itself to be selling these plastic wrapped cookies. My husband went to pickup a pizza, since we haven't tried Donatos before. He had a young man who took his order and seemed completely oblivious to anything going on. However, the pizza was absolutely delicious! The sauce was savory and the pizza had a wonderful smoky flavor (smoked gouda). The crust is thin, but has a softness in the middle. It was Wednesday and they had a special lg pizza and wings. The wings were boneless and reminded me of the other pizza chains. Crumbly and extremely lacking in flavor...We will be back for the pizza. We would prefer to not have to guide an employee to order. I highly recommend it. Especially, if you like a flavorful, zesty sauce vs....
