5 Stars — Zen, Zest, and Zero Chill (in the Best Way)
Let me tell you about the magical portal in Kittredge, Colorado, known to locals as Mono Coffee & Plants — but I call it Heaven’s Lobby with Beverages.
I walked in expecting a caffeine fix. I walked out questioning my entire personality, wondering why I hadn’t started every day riverside with a blueberry iced latte and a matcha that tastes like the forest whispered ancient wisdom into a mason jar.
The blueberry iced latte? It’s not a drink, it’s a mood. A flirtatious, creamy hug from a fruit-scented lumberjack. One sip and I was composing haikus about wild berries and reevaluating my relationship with dairy.
The iced matcha? Picture this: a green tea samurai doing tai chi on your taste buds while Enya plays softly in the background. It was so smooth, I half-expected it to file my taxes and ghost my ex for me.
And then—AND THEN—I took my drinks outside by the river, where time slowed down and the squirrels looked like they were on a guided meditation retreat. I heard a leaf fall. A single, solitary leaf. That’s how peaceful it was. I think I achieved inner peace for 7.5 minutes.
Also, there are PLANTS. Inside. Outside. Possibly plotting world domination with their vibes alone. It's a greenhouse-meets-coffeehouse-meets-Nirvana.
If you’re not drinking Mono’s blueberry latte next to that river while rethinking your life goals, what are...
Read moreAs y’all know, husband and I travel near and far trying small batch coffee shops. It’s been a minute since we traveled out of the Denver Metro specifically to try a coffee shop but when I saw this place on Insta, I knew we had to give it a go! We were out of the country for a few weeks but we got back a few days ago and I was like ‘Hey! It’s time for an adventure!’ It did NOT disappoint! We loved it! Maffi and Bridget made us feel welcome and hooked us up with all the latte deliciousness! While Bridget was fixing up our first round, I went around and made myself acquainted with all the green things. All the beautiful plants are for sale plus there are a few goodies like candles and coffee cups to snag. Then we sat outside by the river and enjoyed the peace. So lovely. The shop is new and so clean and cozy. It gives all the feels right when you walk in. And you know it’s good when just about everyone walking in is a local! Friends, you can’t go wrong here. So whether you’re looking for a place on your way up hiking or exploring or just passing through, we highly recommend stopping off for some coffee fuel at Amano Coffee and Plants!! Tell ‘em...
Read moreI had the pleasure of enjoying a morning coffee at Amano Coffee & Plants this past week while working remotely, and it was a truly delightful experience. This charming café exudes hygge vibes, with its airy light walls, abundant greenery, adobe-style aesthetics, and thoughtfully curated artwork that beautifully showcases the talent of local artists.
The barista expertly crafted a couple of delicious lattes for us, and I also indulged in a gluten-free chocolate chip scone—both were excellent. Though the crisp air kept me indoors, I noticed a few bundled-up patrons savoring their coffee by the creek, adding to the serene ambiance.
Amano is a welcoming haven for both locals and travelers passing through. With ample seating for remote workers and cozy spots for those catching up with friends, it strikes the perfect balance between productivity and relaxation. Convenient parking is available nearby, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot a few curious mule deer wandering through.
If you’re looking for a warm, inviting atmosphere and a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, I highly recommend stopping by Amano...
