I placed an online order through grubhub for 2 crab cake platters and fries to be delivered to my wife's work 2 1/2 hours later in the day. I found out son was sick and wife left her work to pick him up from school. I called Loupys 8 mins after placing the order to cancell the order since she wouldn't be at work. The first guy put me on hold after explaining situation and telling him I wanted to cancell order. The owner got on phone was very rude (seems common based on other reviews) and basically told me go pound sand he already made the food and I couldn't cancell it. I said who are you kidding? You and I both know you didnt even start the order yet because it's not supposed to be delivered for 2 1/2 more hours and that's clearly noted in computer through grubhub AND it's only been 8 mins since I placed the order. Loupys was more interested in collecting the 56.00 than customer service. First and last time I ever give Loupys business. Check their reviews. All said and done food i PICKED UP in person was mediocre at best. Save a ton of $$$ and get some jumbo lump crab cakes from Zallies Shoprite. They are 2x the size, much much better quality and cheaper. Check their other reviews, rude and mediocre food.
Update: since grubhub will not let me REPLY to your comment, I'll leave it here. I was in NO WAY rude to you and your "great staff" (which by the way is the owner and 1 helper, not a "staff" lmao.) I could have been a real a** about it and raised hell in person. We exchanged not 1 word when I picked it up in person except I want my grubhub order. As far as grubhub being the one to cancell the order, yeah I called them immediately after talking to the owner. They would cancell the order if LOUPYS didnt enter into the computer system the food was done, which AGAIN you and I both know it wasnt in the 8 minutes I called you. And AGAIN why would you "cook" and order 2 1/2 hours before your supposed to deliver it. EXCUSES. Own up to it. When Someone leaves you a negative review, you ATTACK them and their character instead of saying, ya know what I didnt see the note that said deliver it in 2 hours, or yeah it was a slow week and we needed the cash. Again your attacks on the people who leave a negative review shown YOUR character! Most every single restraunt I know would say hey you didnt have a good experience, let us make it up to you. DONT LIE AND SAY I WAS RUDE TO YOU, I WILL CALL YOU OUT ANY DAY ON THAT. Thanks Loupys for the great 1st...
Read moreI'm going to break this review into 2 parts (Vibe and Food)
Vibe: I went here after being recommended by my boyfriend. I looked at the reviews and despite some of the comments I decided to check this place out for myself. When I walked in the owner and staff were watching the Kentucky Derby, which I thought was cool. I got to ask them questions about it and he answered them. The conversation was nice as I told him I worked at a race track taking care of the workers. The owner was shocked and surprised once I told him this. He told his whole staff excitedly. He showed me his horse and was really friendly. The place felt welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed this place and it passed the "Vibe" check.
Food: The owner made sure my food was package nicely and secure as he told me the best way to hold it to avoid any spills. Once I got home me and my boyfriend were blown away by the portion size. My food alone (seafood over pasta) was more than enough to share with my boyfriend and still have some left over. My boyfriend got a crab cake sandwich and we also got the seafood mac n cheese and a keylime pie. When I say the food was amazing, I mean it. The seafood mac n cheese was AMAZING and the best mac n cheese I ever had. I couldn't find any negative thing to say about our order. Everything was delicious. The keylime pie was so damn amazing that I took a bite and gave my boyfriend a bite and as I handed the container to my boyfriend he accidentally dropped it on the floor. I was ready to break up with him over that. Anyways, he picked it up and ate it. Yes, I know that's disgusting but it shows how much he liked it. Hands down the best seafood I had in a while and the serving size is mind blowing . Me and my boyfriend will be going back as we will try something new. This place gained 2 loyal customers. Thanks for the conversation and the amazing food.
This isn’t a fake review. I have been reviewing places for years. Anyone can check out all my reviews and see it's legit, so trust me on this review and place. Everyone experience is different so don't let that be the deciding factor on not trying this place out. Go out and actually try it out...
Read moreMy gf found this place listed on the FB page "What's up Voorhees" and while it's not really near us we had to try since I usually crave all manners of seafood. This is small place with a few tables but it's mainly a take out place. Greeted quite warmly upon arrival with three gents behind the counter making various orders for I would assume pickup but all were still chatty while we tried to decide our order. We ended up ordering the fried scallop platter (w/fries), shrimp po-boy (w/fries), medium lobster mac & cheese along with two Joe's tea bottles for roughly $40. I'm always skeptical on getting scallops anywhere since they are so easy to mess up but I was very happy with the portion and how they were cooked. The lobster mac & cheese had decent chunks of lobster but was just alright with it being better after adding some Tony Chachere's seasoning at home. The biggest plus to this place was the older gentleman that starting chatting us up about movies as we waited for our order. He was very animated in his hatred of Tom Hank's acting but love of Al Pacino. He couldn't believe some of my favorite movies were the Godfather and Jaws since I couldn't have seen them in theaters when they came out. It seems the two still behind the counter are constantly hearing stuff like this and were still amused. Even if the food was just average I would go back for the conversation...
