First time here, close to where I live. Not one for dive bars because dive bars generally lack food hygiene, sanitation, proper ingredients to put together a decent menu as well as drinks, but decided to give it a shot. This place fell way below the dive bar standards I already had set. Food was unseasoned, there was a few ants on the bun of my what should have been, well done burger, but ended up being medium rare. Which just puts me off completely because I ask for well done for a reason, clearly and also how can you be so blind as to not see there was foreign bodies on my food, the food that goes inside my BODY. The restaurant had sticky tables, gum under tables, trash on the floor, looked like it hadn't been swept in days. Bathroom was out of soap. I watched burgers come out to other patrons after 30 minutes, watched appetizers come out with entree's, without so much as an apology for the lengthy wait. Anyone who works in the industry knows that isn't appropriate, even for this area. There is a bare minimum of standards to be met when serving food & beverages to customers and this place doesn't even meet those. Not even to mention, what so clearly looked like one of the chefs, this larger white older gentleman laying on the couch where patrons can easily see him, sleeping! When I say sleeping, I mean sleeping. Snoring and all. Who wants to see that while eating their meal? No wonder food took so long to come out, he could care less about that place. Must just be there for the money and to keep himself busy. My final note, I will not be recommending this place to anyone I actually care about. In fact, it will be bad mouthed. There are plenty of other decent dive bars in the area to go to, this is not one of them. P.S the reception is terrible anyway because of the...
Read moreIn lieu of the businesses response to my initial review: You didn’t address any of the issues I stated as you are trying to make it seem like any of this is my fault? I saw a similar review on facebook , I know people that have gone to your establishment and had the same things to say, also i’ve heard racism is amongst your staff but I didn’t experience that for myself so I said nothing. I’ve just never had an experience this terrible to ever resort to the internet to report it. I want people to be aware of the things associated with your business. You clearly don’t have experience in the restaurant/ customer service industry, on the other hand I do. 9 years to be exact. Get your circus together, stop serving below subpar food, make sure your staff checks the plate before sending it out, send out appetizers before the entree, make sure your head chef isn’t sleeping on couches in front of patrons, make sure your restaurant is clean, make sure food is cooked to the correct temperature. It’s really not hard, if you can’t take the criticism then you should find another line of business. I’m sure your regulars are content with the service you provide but if outsiders aren’t then you’re destined for failure. Everything I stated is common sense in the restaurant industry, bare minimum is a must. Again, sure looks like you’re dodging accountability and playing the small business card to gain sympathy. I have no sympathy for people who don’t care enough about their business in order to fix it and listen to the public. The restaurant industry is hard, but again, bare minimum and effort isn’t. I...
Read morePoorly treated by the chef, Ken this past Friday evening... as my friend who has introduced many people to the restaurant including me. This past Friday my friend and I went there for dinner he ordered a $15.00 meatball that arrived at our table cold. I suggested he send it back. He asked our server (a sweet girl) if he could change the order to which she said "yes". When we got the bill, the meatball had not been removed from the bill, so we disputed it and asked to have it removed.... this is where the chef comes up to us and told my friend he had to pay for the meatball saying how his food ALWAYS comes out of the kitchen hot..and that my friend always does this.. sends the food back to which my friend was extremely offended as he has never returned food before. So over the chef Ken's arrogant comments and false accusations to a regular customer who keeps bringing new custmers to the establishment ... we will not be going back there to eat (the food is average BTW). Chef Ken's disrespect to a customer over a $15.00 plate..will case the restaurant to loose a ton revenue. A shame the rest of the staff are great, and very friendly and the owner is a very nice person. We may consider going for drinks but win not eat...
