Our first time going there. 5:00 pm on a Thursday 65-75% of the seating looked filled. We were greeted by 3-4 staff who were standing around the front (from my perspective not doing much else but standing... maybe on break?) who asked our party size (2 myself and my youngest child) and if we would like to dine on the patio or indoor. We said we do whatever would be easier on staff. They told us to go take a seat in the lounge area (first time there...we didn't know where that was and so picked a random table to sit at). After about a 5-10 minute wait (the indoor dining was busy and the wait staff in the dining area were very busy) after seating ourselves a waiter Tim K. came and introduced themselves and handed us our menus. They poured us our water and asked if we would like anything to drink... I explained it was our first time and we didn't know what the non-alcoholic options were.... they verbally explained it but I asked where it was on the menu... the non-alcoholic drinks were not listed anywhere which considering they have specialty sodas/drinks is not a good thing. Our waiter apologized for the inconvenience it created. In general Tim K. was an attentive and patient waiter who provided excellent customer service (I'm an indecisive and introverted person and kept asking for more time... they weren't rushing me but I did take a long time to decide... estimated it took me 10-15 minutes to decide... and asking what our total was at and just asking a lot of questions...) and Tim made sure we had everything we needed and patiently explained/answered everything. Tim also made sure to inform the kitchen staff of my son's dairy allergy which was awesome. There was a slight mix up as I had ordered take out for my oldest child who stayed home and both children's meals came as take out when one was supposed to be dine in... but our waiter had known one was dine in and when they came up they were also slightly confused as to why they were both prepped as take out... another waiter that was not Tim had handed us the takeout... but it worked out as I was able to use the containers later from his meal that he finished to box up part of my enormous meal. The portions are huge! Will definitely go...
Read moreI have been sitting on this for a few weeks now but our situation still has really bothered me.
We went to Margarita's to get dinner and drinks with friends before a concert. We sit down and the server greets us. She gets us drinks, water, and our appetizers. The chips and salsa were okay. We ordered the queso and that wasn't great either. We order our meals and the server in the first half was attentive enough.
When different server came to bring out our meals, we noticed something was either input wrong for my husband's meal or this server grabbed the wrong meal off the line. He had ordered the enchiladas, no onions. Some other dish arrived. The different server told us that she would tell our server and it would be right out. My husband didn't have a meal for 15 minutes while the 3 of us were eating. When they finally brought it out, it was covered in scallions (in the onion family) and there were onions in it. Along with the meat being dry.
I ordered chicken tacos with the crema sauce. Unfortunately, straight sour cream was used and I was disappointed. Crema sauce is usually thinner than sour cream.
I was unable to let our server know/ask about getting a different type of sauce or something for my tacos because while my husband's meal was being remade, she never came out to ask us if the other 3 meals were okay. Once his meal was ready, she basically dropped his meal off and ran.
So on top of my meal not being all that great and my husband not really eating any of his, we were just done and we had some place to be ourselves.
We needed to leave and we ask for the check as she is clearing our plates. We then don't see her for another 10 minutes.
It was all just a very disappointing, especially as someone who used to manage restaurants, bars and cafes. Normally I give servers and bartenders the benefit of the doubt, but this situation I just couldn't. Just overall lack of responsibility from the server.
I don't think we will be back. We ended up having our own checks so with a 2 margs, 1 beer, queso, tacos and enchilada's, with a 15% tip came to $100. That to me is way too much to pay for a meal we didn't enjoy along with...
Read moreFirst off I run a restaurant and can be very understanding. Last night my fiance and I went out for dinner and some drinks we sat in the bar area. We got there a little before 5 and the place was pretty busy we sat at a booth and waited a few minutes, a server came over and greeted us giving us chips saying she wasn't our server and she was very behind and would be right over. Our server eventually came over took our orders and went along with her other duties. I'm not gonna get into the play by play the moral of the story is we felt forgotten. She walked past us many times without checking in on us, she forgot our appetizer which only came out after our entree after being asked about it again. She visited the table a total of 3 times. One greet, one how are your bites, and finally heres your check. With a new baby we don't get a lot of time to go out and the last time we were at margaritas we loved it, last night not so much. The server was pleasant when she was at the table but she was beyond buried with to many tables. There was a table that sat behind us after we got in and they they got their drinks apps and entrees before us. Again I run a restaurant I understand the business, my opinion someone should have picked up our table when more servers came on, there was about 4 other waitstaff in the bar during this most of which were seen just floating and busing. Not sure why they could have taking over. The food itself was good and the drinks were great this server needed a lifesaver as she was Cleary taking on too many tables. I'm not trying to bash her she just seemed very overwhelmed...
