This Uyghur restaurant, offering the distinct and captivating flavors of China's Uyghur region, is an absolute must-try for anyone seeking a unique and incredibly satisfying dining experience. Upon entering, the welcoming atmosphere promises a delightful meal, and Eerkin's certainly lives up to that promise. We opted for a selection of their renowned dishes, and each one was a testament to their culinary expertise. The Gambian Soman was a standout. This dish, with its distinctive flavors and textures, immediately transports your taste buds. The noodles were perfectly prepared, and the rich, savory sauce created a truly memorable experience. It's clear that the chefs at Eerkin's put immense care into their traditional noodle dishes. For our protein, we indulged in both the Lamb Kabab and Chicken Kabab. Both were absolutely fantastic, showcasing the mastery of grilling and seasoning that is characteristic of Uyghur cuisine. The lamb was tender and perfectly spiced, while the chicken was succulent and flavorful. Served with their fresh, soft Naan, these kababs were a perfect combination of smoky goodness and comforting bread. The fact that all their meat is halal is a huge blessing and definitely appreciated. Beyond the savory delights, Eerkin's also excels in their beverages and desserts. The Mint Green Tea was out of this world! It was refreshing and aromatic, serving as a perfect palate cleanser and a delightful accompaniment to the meal. And to truly top off the experience, the Neapolitan Cake was simply divine. Its layers of flavor and delightful texture made it an unforgettable sweet ending. What truly sets Eerkin's apart is its authentic Uyghur food, which offers a beautiful fusion of Central Asian and Chinese influences. It's a rare and precious find, especially as a halal establishment. Read moreI had one of the worst experience from this restaurant. Dont get me wrong, the food was great; it was one of the servers.
I went there with 3 other people and it took about 10 minuets for the food to be served, except for mine. The server (female, chubby, glasses, dyed hair) did not say anything so I assumed mine would be out too soon. After about 5 minutes, I asked her if mine is coming out soon too. She did not bother to look at me and said ‘yeah yeah’. After another 5 minutes, I asked her again and she looked very annoyed. Of course she said its coming out soon so I just waited. Finally when all my friends are done, I specifically asked her what is happening at the kitchen. She went in, came out and said, they did not have the sauce so they are making it again.
I mean come on! She could have checked and told me that earlier. I canceled my order obviously and the worst thing was, not once she apologized to me, like I was the one who caused all this. I somewhat felt like I was supposed to say sorry. Things happen and people make mistakes. If she apologized to me at least once, I would not have taken time to write this review. I feel bad for the restaurant because the food was amazing and Uyghur food is interesting. Unless they fire her, I and my friends won’t go back...
