Reply to owner comment: another lie i have not ordered from doordash. No you are wrong I didn’t order from door-dash, I came to your location and waited hours to get my food. Even i had ordered from food delivery app, isn’t that your responsibility to deliver good quality food? Are you trying to imply here don’t order from door dash or food delivery app. I am surprised by the fact you tried to prove my review wrong referring it was ordered from doordash. I accept everyone have their different way of cooking Indian food but please don’t lie to yourself how to cook biryani, (mixing the rice with butter chicken masala is not biryani, please at-least mix rice with chicken curry masala you know what i am trying to refer). I am not the only one who have problems you can checkout other south asian people review as well, you are just ignorant of those review because you don’t want to serve authentic food that takes effort right. If you want to serve just non south Asian customer than why you are misleading on your branding. I purely came looking at the reviews and i have huge respect to all those people who ordered on trust and added review for a average food. I never post review on anything but you have disappointed with your late service and food to that level i have promised myself not to go any Indian restaurants based on their branding and reviews.
My original review: I ate the worst of the worst Biryani and Samosas ever at this place.
This is cheating to those non south Asian Customer who don’t know what authentic food taste like. I know serving 100% authentic is not possible on restaurants but at-least they should be shameful for serving this quality of biryani and samosas. I had ordered curry as well it was below average but i can live with that but the wait time, customer service, biryani and samosa they have served to me have given me trauma of not visiting any Indian restaurants based on reviews. I am 100% sure these reviews are purchased reviews. My day was going so well but visiting this place had made my Cincinati visit not a day to remember.
If i had a option i would rate minus star on here. I am not the person who writes reviews for restaurants but the food i was served today made me write review here because i went to this place looking at the good reviews.
I had to wait more than 45 min even though when i reached this place there were just one more table only. The owner should feel ashamed serving this kind of taste of food to other. I am pretty much sure if the owner had gone to other restaurants and if they were served the biryani, samosas they had served to me they wouldn’t eat at all.
Despite the age of youtube and social media where people can easily learn to make good food, these people are lazy to serve authentic taste of food and serve whatever food they want, I am pretty sure they don’t eat what they make or they wouldn’t have guts to cheat their customer over taste. I can challenge any south asian person who visit this restaurant and eat their Biryani and samosas, anyone would feel the same feeling I felt today.
For owners: please taste your food before serving, and please go out to other good restaurant to taste what good samosas and biryani are like. I would atleast suggest to see some youtube videos to learn if you don’t know how to cook. Be honest to yourself and tell yourself are you serving the food with right taste? Make people hard earned...
Read moreUpdate as of 8/1/2024: As you can see from the very unprofessional response, they have a hard time with honest criticism. I wasn't going to mention how sick I got from eating the rotten food but since you've chosen to go low and dishonest by saying, "I ate 3 big plates of food." I'll be honest, I barely ate one plate because it was that terrible!! I stand on what I experienced! Instead of being a toddler about my review, take in some advice and try to understand that if you put out poor quality food, eventually someone is going to catch it and tell you the truth! I'm disappointed that you made excuses and ended by saying you can refuse service to anyone. It just shows your attitude is just as terrible as the food! If you worked for me and said this to my customer, you'd be fired!
I'm not sure what's going on but this location has changed. I went to the all-you-can-eat buffet on 5/7/24 around noon. The price is posted as 13.99. Why was I charged an extra dollar? Was it tax? Was she thinking I was going to eat more than I should? The food was so bland. This is an Indian restaurant! Flavor is their middle name! When the rice is more aromatic than the meat and sauces, something isnt right. They had Chicken Masala and Curry chicken next to each other. You couldn't tell the difference between the 2 items in appearance or taste. They fried some puffy dough with no flavor and no filling inside of it. Normally they have samosas but no substitute? I also tried the tiki chicken. It was tough, old, and no flavor! I feel like this food was cooked a few days ago without any of the normal preparation and care they normally put into their food because its normally delicious. Another poor choice is They have a sign up saying, "no public restroom". I asked if that applied to customers that dine in. The lady that rang me up said, no that I could use it, but not too long! What is that supposed to mean? I hope they see this post and take another look at the buffet and make changes. I'll give it a month and...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE!
SHAME on this company for moving into our neighborhood and city and deliberately naming their restaurant after the “REAL” Shaan Indian Cuisine in Hyde Park Plaza.
THAT IS CORRECT! THESE 2 RESTAURANTS ARE NOT AFFILIATED!!!!!
I have been frequenting the “REAL” Shaan Indian Cuisine from the very beginning. and I have personally witnessed the long, grueling hours Dimender and his family put in to make their restaurant a success and a staple of our community. I still remember when Dimender and his wife couldn’t even travel home to visit their family and friends at the same time because one of them needed to be at the restaurant.
So PLEASE do not eat at the NEW aka FAKE SHAAN INDIAN CUISINE until they change the name of their restaurant.
They are certainly welcome here and I would wish them the best IF they would’ve worked hard to earn their reputation instead of opening a place in Cincinnati and robbing Dimender and his family of their hard work by deceiving people by leading them to believe Dimender opened a second location.
There are a LOT of small businesses owners in our community. We can not stand for this.
What’s next?
The NEW Graeters? The NEW Skyline? The NEW Dominos? The NEW Baba Indian? The NEW Asiana? The NEW Courtsey? The NEW Echo?
The list doesn’t end. I just think this is WRONG and I hope other people feel...
