Zundo Ramen & Donburi Red Bank — Restaurant in Fairfax

Absolute disgrace. Today, 04/24/2024, I ordered carry out of pork ramen for -$15; and jumbo shrimp dumplings--$8. Advised, I''ll be back in 30 min to get food. Came back in 3 min as thought to order something else as well. To my surprise my package of food was already sitting there. (3 minutes, really?). Picked it up, unpleasantly surprised that $23 worth of food was likely just sitting in a fridge instread of being freshly cooked but brushed aside preconceived notion. Unfortunately the reality was far worse I could imagine. "Jumbo shrimp dimplings" were 3 miniscule pieces of undercooked dough. Miniscule is an understatement here, it wasn't enough for a bite , you could literally swallow it effortlessly, that's how tiny it was. If anything was inside of it, it was totally indistinguishable because of its tiny side. Pork ramen was likely sitting in a fridge for a month. The noodles were stuck so badly together, that even after heating up the broth, it couldn't be unstuck, had no flavour, felt stale, minute made noodle worth 50 cent from Walmart across the plaza would taste better. It was covered by 2 (!!!) tiny slices of pork which had terrible aftertaste. That was my $15 ramen. Those people have no shame, they are criminals who are there to snatch a buck before they are gone into oblivion ( the place has been on popular little plaza for less than a year). Please stay far away, I just cut my losses and glad not be poisoned. Filing FDA complaint tomorrow, still can't believe what I have just...

Got the chicken tomkatsu Ramen. Overall it wasn't great. I fully understand and appreciate that's probably not authentic, and the fried chicken was cooked very well. The ingredients very fresh. But overall, it was like Progresso soup from a can with some fresh fried chicken, an exceptional single tea egg, and one bok choy on top. For $20 after tax. It took 3 minutes of shaking chili flakes onto it to make it appealing.

Staff was silent and deer in the headlights, almost not present. I had to wait 30 seconds to be addressed in the store with one other patron and wait 5 minutes for them to come back after giving me the menu. I get it, I'm in sweatpants from the sports club next door looking for some fast carbs and electrolytes, but judge not lest ye be judged.

Overall, I probably won't be back, I had a better experience with the Ramen shop at Ashley Station, between planet fitness...

I recently visited Zundo Ramen and was blown away by the quality of the food and service. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and was not disappointed. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The pork belly was tender and melted in my mouth. I also tried the Katsu curry, which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, flavor explode right inside of my mouth after first bite.
