Momo Sushi — Restaurant in Fairfield

Update: The amazing staff has announced they closed their doors in September. As of this post, they have been closed a few weeks already. The staff and restaurant will be missed. Their quality of food and friendliness of the staff is only surpassed by the value. The sushi chef and owner most definitely knows his way around the fish and has great relationships with their supplier. Each time I've gone here for the lunch or dinner buffet, the quality of sashimi I've had has been the very best outside of a high end omakase. I've not had sashimi of this quality in Fairfield until now.

I can't really speak to the selection of sushi rolls , but a friend who did order rolls here and the fusion roll really enjoyed it.

The place has a good mix of Korean and Japanese food, which I definitely enjoy. I'm a fan of the buchimgae and jap chae, is a great side dish or bon chon. The tempura, bulgogi, and sesame chicken are all pretty tasty. I haven't tried the whole menu yet, but I will eventually.

This area doesn't have many great quality Japanese restaurants, but there are two delicious Korean restaurants. To find one that does both well is unique. That's why I'm so enamored with this restaurant.

I’ve lived in Japan for 8 years of my life while serving in the military. I am very impressed with the artistry and presentation of the meal I shared with my wife. The Japanese are 100% all about freshness and the fore mentioned. When I tell you their fish was so fresh in the various meal selection it was like oh my ( look at other places and you see the fish has a silver tinge to it, that means it’s fresh frozen or older) . Worst sushi I have had in a long time! The hand rolled tempura was 1 tempura shrimp 2 small pieces of sliced avocado and rice. No tempura veggies, and a SUPER sweet sauce that overpowered everything. Lion King was burned inedible, and another roll was a container of mush.
