New York Pizza Express — Restaurant in Fairfield

Man, I really wanted to like this place.

1st The wings, I got a large order because I read great reviews about them.. first off, big fatty wings, they're almost full size chicken wing and drums! But, they are not crispy at all, like i don't think they fry them at all. & Secondly, whatever "hot" is, it's not a sauce, or even a rub... I really dont know what it is, it makes the wings kind of brighter red in color, similar to a buffalo wing, but literally zero sauce, in fact, the large order of wings, in the container was like, a napkin under them, idk maybe to soak "grease" up? Or perhaps to prevent the wings from burning a hole in the styrafoam if its too temperature hot? But the napkin stayed totally dry. Imo, whatever they did have, wasn't even spicy... barely had flavor at all. What an absolute waste of a potentially awesome fat chicken wing :(

So in short, if you like saucy buffalo wings, this isn't going to be your cup of tea. Wings rate 1 out of 5. I would never order again.

Now the pizza... I tried to order the Quatro Staggioni. But they were out of eggplant, so i switched to the New York pizza, & asked to add artichoke. It smelled good, it even looked good, but tasting it, somehow it tastes just like eating unsalted unflavored bread! Idk how that is even possible with all the meat veggies cheese and... pixxa sauce?... I had to stop and think.. am I sick? How is both the wings & the pizza a total flop with such great reviews and both totally flavorless?? Idk how this happened. I am sad, but I have to say I would never order either again even at the reasonable prices they have them marked at.

The best thing I had here was the Sunkist canned soda.

The atmosphere is, we'll not a single chair set out for anyone who wants to wait inside.

Pizza i rate a 2 out if 5, because it wasn't inedible, if i went to a party and this was sitting there i wouldn't be excited about it but if I was hungry it would fill me up. It's not gross, it's just tasteless.

My suggestion to them is, PLEASE use some sort of salt/garlic salt sprinkle after or parmesan cheese, OR BOTH! For the pizza anyway. A little salt will vastly improve your entire menu, i promise!

& for the wings you have the potential for great wings with the size of them, but invest in an actual fryer! & please make an actual buffalo sauce you toss them in AFTER they're fried. I promise ppl will have about them so much more.

The thing I like most about this place is price and 20 minutes. No matter what day of the week or if it's Superbowl. Your pizza will be ready for pick up in 20 minutes. Now delivery I don't know, only pick up. And it's only like $22 for a X-Large. We always get the pepperoni, pineapple and jalapeño as our go to. It's a pretty good pizza for the money. This is a pick up or delivery place only. There is no in house seating . The parking lot for them is limited and shared with a few other businesses so sometimes that's an issue. Overall my friends and I order from them often . Their staff isn't overly friendly on the phone but they aren't rude either. They jyst take your order and that's it. I give New York Pizza Express 4 out of 5...

They gave us the wrong pizza. I ordered and payed for it and my husband went back in to get the right one made. They literally called him a liar and then when I went inside the lady wouldn't even listen and proceeded to tell me it was her business and she could run it how she wanted. I told her I was a server and when a customer has a complaint you at least give them the chance to talk and not speak over them and argue. She then told me she would call the cops. I told her she could call and they have cameras so if the police came I would not be found at any fault and threatening to call the cops on a customer for voicing a complaint was unprofessional and just plain ghetto. Totally disappointed with customer...
