We stopped in for dinner on a Friday evening on the advice of my friend who had been there with his family the previous week. It wasn't crowded - lots of tables available. The way the place is built, it was a bit loud - noisy from other conversations. The food was ok. I had a bowl of chili and a buffalo chicken wrap with chips. The chili was mild, but good. I added some hot sauce to spice it up. As I ate it, a gentleman who I assumed to be the owner or manager inquired if the chili was too hot for me because of the jalapenos. I pointed to the bottle of hot sauce as I fiendishly shoveled it into my mouth (I was very hungry). He made a witty remark and went on his way. We all had the buffalo wrap, but none of them came with any hot sauce. Of course, my friends jokingly blamed me because I had grabbed the bottle of hot sauce from the condiment station for my chili, but they were happy to use it to spice up their wraps. Unfortunately, my chips, though they had a good seasoning, were cold and tasted as if they had been setting out for a while. In all, the food was tasty, but left something to be desired. My friend said his previous experience was better, so it was possibly due to the day and time. The ice cream was fantastic. I had black walnut in a waffle cone. It was excellent. It's worth checking out. My friend highly recommended it...
Read moreAs my first experience here, I did have a few issues. First is, the menu says "ribbon fries" that are actually chips. Perhaps it would be best to call them "ribbon chips" so we know what we are getting. Second issue: the sweet tea tasted like it had been there ALL day. I've never spit a drink out until today. It had the taste of tea that had been sitting out two days, or a tea urn that isnt cleaned properly. Third problem: I was informed that the young ladies that had served me dont actually get the tips from credit cards. I'm sorry, but when I tip, I assume the person serving me is getting the tip, or at least being split between all the servers. Why would the owner get tips that customers assume goes to the people actually serving us? Anyway, the young ladies were very sweet, quickly fixed any issues I had, and wanted to be sure that we enjoyed our experience. We will be back. I just won't drink the tea, and I will be sure to bring cash for my tip. It's a shame because in this day and age, we dont usually carry cash, but I believe in tipping well for my service received. As for the food, we enjoyed it, and we will certainly return, because I want to try the ice cream. It looked delicious. Also, the actual fries are great! The burger patty could use a little seasoning, but I would try...
Read moreI wish we could have experienced all the five star reviews we saw! I looked on the internet for the hours opened and it said till 10 pm. I then called to be sure and due to Covid they would only be opened till 8pm. We then planned our night to go see the lights and order out from there with three car loads of about 15 people. I did not pack any food for my children, because I had planned ahead and knew the hours. When we were ready to order as we entered the lights we were told they would be closing at 7 Instead! I wanted to write this because I do understand the Covid situation but as a business if someone calls in and is given a closure time then that should be adhered to and not changed last minute! This was not an emergency as I would have understood...
