Joe's Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Fairview Heights

I was shocked by the way the new owner handled a complaint that was their fault. My husband and I went there for dinner. The salads were brought out, but my husband's pasta dish and our cheese garlic bread was never brought out. People coming in after us were getting all of their food, and our's never came out. A table next to us even got their 3 small pizzas and we still waited. The waitress walked by several times, but didn't appear to notice the rest of the order was missing, or didn't bother to check to see where it was. When I finally stopped her and asked about the rest of our order, she returned shortly and said it was lost. I asked to speak to the manager. He did not initially come out, but when he did, he brought the rest of of food. I said that I couldn't believe that our order was lost, and that we were long time customers and never experienced this here. He became loud and defensive and stated he is now the owner, and that he has a new cook, and began sarcastically apologizing in a demeaning manner. He then said it was only 23 minutes that we waited. Our wait was considerably longer. Larger tables who came in after us were getting their orders before our lost order was even noticed. The apology was in no way sincere. We got $5 off the bill. A PLACE WHERE DREAMS COME TRUE! A++ Iv dreamt about a fantastic evening with impeccable staff to serve up some, made with love and soul, dishes!.....I decided on a salad with olives, out of this world, that one flew off my plate!! How quick can you say, that a staff member picked it up right away. TALK ABOUT CLEAN!! I was so impressed that I had to set my 10 minutes of veganous aside and go with a pizza, sausage and pepperoni on one side and just sausage on the other half with olives all around. This was to go and in less then 10 minutes!! I couldn’t stop eating. It was so flavorful and exquisite that I couldn’t wait til I got home. I felt the love in every bite. A pizza with superb ingredients. I was not sure if it was the pizza sauce or well made crust, which was not to thick and not to thin and made with the exact amount of sauce. I think Iv found a new reason to live out my dreams. I am now working on that tele-porter, I had put to the side, to be able eat at this amazing place, since I don’t live in town, until one day I can acquire an asset such as great as this one and many more to end world hunger!!! First time visiting and was very excited to try. We ordered wings, medium hot sauce, lg chef salad and seafood/lobster ravioli ( came with side garden salad and garlic bread). We found the food to be very delicious and our server was excellent, no complaints on any of the previous commentary. My only concern/quam was that when using a credit card you are charged a 3% service charge, was not aware. Inquired with server if there was a cc service fee, since total of receipt and what was charged on my cc differed. I stated it would.have been nice to know before paying, as I would have paid in cash, had I know. I stated I had not seen anything posted anywhere..was told it was on door at entry. I have no issue with having to pay a surcharge/service charge but that it is not clearly stated. On leaving, said note is a sticker at waist level on the door, with NO MENTION of the % percentage to be charged, whether a flat fee or a percentage of bill.
