Warning for take out orders at La Mission; this place will not replace your food under any circumstances. The gentlemen working takeout told us that he would not replace the food even if the customer had an allergy because all orders are final. So we were stuck with an $80 bill for four entrees we wouldn’t enjoy. This place has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced which is really too bad because their food is absolutely delicious. If you go into the restaurant and order the food and you make sure that they repeat your order back to you, you may be alright. We used to go in all the time, and the food was wonderful. However, if you order take out it will not be what you ask for, and unfortunately, since my wife has an autoimmune disease, that’s all we can do right now due to COVID.
Twice now we have ordered take out and told them we wanted plain queso only as the sauce on the chimichangas. Both times we got lettuce, tomatoes, guac, and sour cream on top of the queso. Additionally, the to go containers for the chip queso dip had bits of the lid melted into the cheese. This also happened on both take out orders. The first time this happened, we left the restaurant without checking the food. That was on us, so we didn’t make a big deal about it.This time, we made sure that we checked the food before we left and since it was wrong again, we asked them to fix it. The gentlemen there refused to fix it because even though we said queso only, his claim is that for him to fix it we would have had to itemize exactly what we didn’t want and specifically say, “no tomatoes, no lettuce, no sour cream, and no guac.” Since all we said is we want it plain with queso only, he refused to replace it. I told him this was the worst customer service I’d ever had at a restaurant, and asked him what he’d do if I had an allergy since all sales are final. He said that even if a customer has an allergy he would not replace the food.
At every other restaurant I’ve ever been to, if the order is wrong, the staff apologizes and remakes the food. In fact, I’ve never had it done any other way. I usually don’t even have to ask. They’ll ask me if everything looks ok. I’ve been dining at several restaurants where the servers will notice I’m not eating the food and offer to replace it without me asking. Many restaurants with excellent customer service will even take it a step farther and take the food off the bill. I’m very disappointed in La Mission. Their food is good, but as you can see, their customer service is awful. Deemphasizing good customer service during a time of financial difficulty isn’t going to save your business. The money you would have lost to make this right, will not replace the money you would have continued to receive from a family who frequented your establishment.
Note their response below. They don’t care about customers or staying in...
Read moreMy sister and I go eat at this restaurant every week. Her food was not prepared correctly and she asked that it be replaced. The staff said they could only redo the eggs and she said well take it off the bill. She was told that the "NEW" policy is when they can do nothing. When you order something even if its wrong you own it. I paid the bill and left no tip. I have been in many restaurants and have never heard of anything like that. My sister had taken 2 bites before calling on the waitress to come over. She got the manager and he said he would replace the eggs only. The meal was ruined. She told them we would not never go back and they said ok. I will go to the other mexican restaurant in Falcon. I will make it my policy to bad mouth this restaurant every chance I get. So I got a response from the owner Mr Lucero about how I was rude I was the perfect example for the sign. No, Mr. Lucero your restaurant was at fault. If it was a steak house and someone ordered a medium rare steak and it came well done then by your policy, that person owns it. If the customer complained about it then he would be abusing the employees. I see many reviews that echo my emotions. I always tip well and if the food is good I compliment the staff. I believe the reason for your sign is profits. You do not care if the food is wrong only that you make your money. Do you not understand that the public has a choice of where to eat. They eat where they get good food for a reasonable price. No where did I ever say anything about an employee. The complaint was about your policy, you made that to insure your profits. Trust me I am not the only one...
Read moreThis was our first time to dine at La Mission Restaurant Falcon. It was recommended by a local business in the area. There are not too many decent Mexican restaurants in Colorado Springs, La Mission isn’t one of them either. It’s very crowded and the tables are tightly packed together. It’s not very handicapped accessible. We had to ask patrons to move out of the way from their table for a powered wheelchair to get around them to exit.
Our server was young and had only been there for two or three months. She wasn’t familiar with their menu nor the happy hour drink price deals/criteria for the buy one get one free offer. This is so annoying and disappointing when servers can’t answer your questions and they don’t bother to get you an answer. Needless to say, we paid full price for our specialty margaritas as only the house margaritas are on the happy hour BOGO free promotion. At least they offered a military discount and allowed us to take one of the house margaritas we ordered to go..
The salsa that came with the chips was the consistency of jarred spaghetti sauce and the tortilla chips that were served were mostly small broken pieces. The seasoning was more on the bland side with all the dishes we ordered, smothered chicken burrito and beef chimichanga. Their desserts were lackluster too. We’re tried the flan and sopapilla. The flan custard was not fresh, like it was store bought and the sopapilla was cold and undercooked. I can’t recommend La Mission Restaurant for a quality Mexican food experience. Save your money or go to Taco Del Gordo on...
