We had Duanes House of Pizza for the first time today, and considering all of the mostly positive reviews and yummy pictures of their pizzas online, we wanted so badly to love it!! Granted, it was a delivery order, but delivery was super quick. Quicker than any other pizza joint we've ever ordered delivery from. And my husband works all over the US, so we've ordered from all sorts of pizza joints over the years. As far as delivery, it was actually the quickest we've ever experienced. So everything was hot & fresh. And the delivery guy was super sweet & polite. But, unfortunately, the super quick delivery & polite delivery guy are the only positive things we have to say about this place. We ordered a 14" specialty 3 meat pizza (well done with extra cheese) and a 10 piece fried chicken bucket with french fries. First complaint is how soggy the pizza was. We ordered it well done, and the pizza was fresh upon speedy delivery. So, I guess that's why they have a "double crust" option that I'd never seen before...for $4 extra. So if you're going to try this place, I highly suggest paying the extra $4 for double crust. Second complaint is we ordered extra cheese, and I'm convinced that they forgot to add the extra cheese. That, or I'd hate to see how little cheese comes on their pizzas without paying for the extra cheese option. Regarding the chicken bucket, we did ask for no breasts, only dark meat & wings, and they delivered on that part. But that brings me to my 3rd and final complaint about how SALTYYYYY everything was. Both the pizza & the chicken were so salty that it was genuinely difficult to eat. But I mean, we paid $60 for this meal (plus tip) so we delt with it and ate it. But the saltiness was extremely borderline unbearable. SALT was the only flavor we really tasted. And we're from South Louisiana, so we like our food flavorful & seasoned well. But this didn't taste seasoned, it just tasted overbearingly SALTY. All of it! As far as the french fries go, we didn't even eat them. The whole box went in the trash. You can tell the french fries had been cooked some time ago and just sitting under heat. So yea, as bad as we wanted to love this place. We won't be visiting or...

This is simply one of my favorite pizza places in town for a pepperoni. More toppings than one need to be carefully considered in my opinion as they bury then underneath the cheese. Something I typically don't agree with, but in the case of a standard pep it works well.
Crust: thin, typically cooked to have a nice snap around the edges, usually ends up flopply in the middle(I prefer mine with an even crisp, if there are leftovers which isn't often I crisp it up, or even sometimes before first go)
Sauce: slightly above average red sauce, typically use what I consider the right amount, or enough.
Toppings: they have kraut za options that I know people love, myself I stuck to pep or meats with them.
Chicken: 3rd best in town for fried chicken.
JoJo's: get some Jo's they're delicious. If you don't know what they are it's basically extra large potatoe wedges battered and fried.
Service: they'll deliver or you can eat in. Delivery isn't usually the quickest, but it'll get there.
Price: one of the highest in town. You can get a buy one half off coupon from the website, I recommend you do so. Especially since 1 large pizza feeds 2 adults in my experience.
Another thing to note if you do take out is that you don't get boxes. It's out on a cardboard circle and into a paper bag that gets stapled. Keep this in mind if getting multiples and don't stack them as the bottom paper can stick to the toppings and get...

He was extremely cold and harsh - snapping at me because I did not announce the area code for my phone number. (I just read off all the numbers as I always do nowadays because not everyone has a 701 area code anymore), and then when I ordered my pizza (the same as I have done every-single time I have ordered a pizza from Duanes) he snapped at me again for the way I requested the toppings. Now, I know people are allowed to have bad days, but having worked in the service industry most of my life - I know how even one poor experience with just one person can reflect badly on the whole business. I hope whoever this was that is answering the phones tonight can learn to soften his words and hide his anger a little better. And just as a suggestion - if the reciting of my phone number without announcing the area code was that much of a trigger for him, perhaps the new protocol should be to ask for the area code first, and then the rest of the phone number? I had no idea something so harmless could ruin someone's day and...
