My favorite Chinese restaurant in ND so far. All the points I appreciate: (1) The place is huge, (2) the floors are clean, (3) the tables are clean and the glass top was squeaky clean because I usually clean my table areas with napkins and hot water when I eat just in case, (4) no carpet (food places with carpet foot traffic in all kinds of weather tend to smell like musty moldy places), (5) no odors, (6) seats and chairs are comfortable in the booths and non booths, (7) staff were mopping the floors and the water had no dirty chlorine smell (of course far away from anyone eating), (8) the silverware was spotless, (9) they gave me hot water in a nice porcelain pot (not like some other places that use plastic) so i didn’t have to keep asking for more water and felt safe that plastics weren’t getting into my water, (10) the staff were kind and attentive, (11) my food came out in about 7 minutes tops and came out piping hot, (12) filled my rice bowl to the top, (13) it was nice and quiet and peaceful with no music 🎶 or sounds except the water fountain (I don’t like loud music or any music as it’s nice to eat in peace sometimes or talk to your friends and family and be able to hear each other without screaming), (14) the food was not oily or filled with starch and additives, (15) the mushrooms were fresh and not the dried ones, (16) the bathroom was clean, (17) and most of all this place is vegetarian friendly and I was able to have the kind of vegetables with garlic sauce I love everywhere I go. The flavors were natural and...
Read moreI ordered a variety of items because I had never tried it before and wanted an overall experience. I ordered cream cheese wontons, fried dumplings, pork fried rice, sweet and sour pork, and garlic shrimp. I also ordered chow mein but they only have lo mein so I skipped it. My order with delivery charge came to around $48. They also threw in the obligatory quart of steamed rice. My order was delivered very quickly, like 15 minutes, I was impressed. I tipped $5 and I'm sure he got the delivery charge. The cream cheese wontons were wonderful but you only got about 6 of them. The fried dumplings were spot on as well, very tasty. The sweet and sour pork and the garlic shrimp were wonderful as well, flavor was right on but the small shrimp cooked too quickly and got rubbery but it was still good. The pork fried rice was a complete disappointment, it didn't even look fried and was void of any flavor. In comparing the steamed and fried rice, the only difference were the eggs and vegetables in the fried rice but it still had no flavor. This was not fried rice, dont waste your money. Overall, it was mostly good but expensive. I was underwhelmed and pimped enough where I will be trying everyone else before I try this again. Thanks...
Read moreThis is the only authentic Chinese restaurant in Fargo!
I've been to China and lived in San Francisco for several years. This is the only Chinese restaurant in the FM area serving true Northern Chinese dishes. Every dish I've ever had is spot on. The attention to detail by Lucy is uncompromising and unparalleled.
It's so sad like that so many great eating countries have been ruined by there introduction to American cooks (I won't call them chefs) They ruin them to the point they no longer resemble there heritage.
The Hunan Fish subtle and delicious. Braised pork ribs. Trust me you have never tried ribs like these before. Braised baby Chinese Eggplant! Tea smoked duck. You get that amazing smoky flavor only a VERY high temperature wok produces. In Chinese cooking the direct flames that heat the wok are called the Dragons Breath. And they do it here! There is nothing that's not a winner. I've been very fortunate on a few occasions to have had mine delivered by Lucy's husband. What a wonderful man as well I live quite far from the restaurant but regardless I get take out once a month. Thank you Lucy for blessing Fargo with authentic Chinese...
