Tacos Trompo — Restaurant in Fargo

Food is pretty good, but service was spotty and didn’t seem like a very good value. Girlfriend and I stopped by for to go order and it took about 20 minutes to make 2 tacos, 1 burrito and 2 elotes. There was exactly 1 order ahead of us, and it was 2 entrees (they were already seated and waiting when we arrived). Staff were friendly enough, but seemed utterly disorganized. Elotes (corn) can be had on the cob, or off. We got one of each, do not get off as they pulled a cup of what appeared to be canned corn and threw it in the microwave to heat up. The cob came out of the back room piping hot before anything else was even started and was way better than the cup of corn. Tacos were made fairly quickly, and this was part of the problem. That was what my girlfriend ordered and they were done a good 10min before the burrito. So a little cool by the time we ate (3 min drive home). She said flavors were good, but not much food for $3 each. Also the tortilla totally discinigrated upon trying to eat. Burrito was good, but I ordered smothered with queso & got a 1oz side cup of queso- not enough to cover half, yet alone smother. Probably won’t be back...

Longtime customer for years and called for take out because they stop online ordering an hour or so before closing . I usually prefer ordering online (because people often make mistakes ) but in this instance an idiot answered and did not listen well and even laughed when I told them my order. Then proceeded to ask me to repeat my order at that point I told the person "no thanks" and hung up. No knock on the food it's the best I've had and even prefer it to the numerous other places with "street tacos" it's a shame things have to be tainted by immature helpers answering the phones.

My rude respose? she said let me check and then instantly said "i dont think we have any" to which according to you and her i rudely replied "you dont think so? or you checked?" I understand defending your family and children. I would probably do the same. But in anycase a child should not be answering the phones. and least of all one who doesn't listen well and continues to ask me to repeat my order while laughing? can you...

I ordered the pollo burrito without rice a d add red sauce and the clerk asked me, "with what kind of meat?" I should have walked out right then. The burrito arrived with rice and no red sauce. I should have said, "this is not what I ordered, refund my purchase" and walked out. With the added trip to the counter to ask for the red sauce (I got medium, which had a good flavor and decent heat but disappeared quickly so if you like any amount of heat, go for the hot), it helped the burrito but didn't save it. The chicken was flavorful but nothing special.

A person dining with me liked their tacos (I think carnitas(?)) but their chips and queso were highly disappointing. The chips were very stale and the queso didn't do anything to improve their edibility.
