Jalapeño's of Farmersville — Restaurant in Farmersville

As anyone can tell from my other reviews, I do not like to leave 1 Star rating but I feel I have to address this establishment. We attempted to try out Jalapeno's last Saturday evening after dining at another local restaurant that was amazing in the area the week before. We were super excited as we had heard from a local business owner it was very good. Upon entering, we didn't know if we should wait at the front where the menu's/register were or seat ourselves as no one was at the register that was just inside the front door. We were told from across the room from a man that we can sit where ever we want. There were only 3 tables with guest at them. We proceeded to a booth, that was just cleaned with a super wet towel so we moved to another. I proceeded to go to the ladies room to wash my hands and the restroom was not clean, trash on the floor and no paper towels in the dispenser. They do have an air blower but I do not use them. I returned to the table with wet hands and within a minute or so a lady walked over to us with salsa, queso and chips, she did not look at us, did not say hello or welcome.... just said, "here you go" and left the items on the table. Was she the waitress? Was she going to take our drink order? We looked around and scanned the area and part of the kitchen/waitress station and decided it did not appear to be a very clean kitchen and got up and left. Upon reaching the front door, there were 3 employees (we assume they were employees) at the register within feet of the front door, laughing and having a good time, none of them said anything to us, not good night, thank you, we appreciate your business, how was your meal?, nothing. Zero acknowledgement! Did they know we had just arrived? Did they know we didn't eat? Did they care? I don't know if the food is good here. The place is dirty and run down and, the kitchen of what we could see was dirty and the employees could care less that we had entered, much less left. We will not be returning to Jalapeno's but we will frequent (weekly) the establishment across the street that is fun, clean, great and attentive staff and amazing food. I am happy Jalapeno's must be doing so good that they will not miss or need our business. Best of...

I was really hoping for a family-owned Tex-Mex place that was close to Princeton we could frequent. This place did not fit the bill. The food was just okay, maybe a little bit sub-par. But the service, was way off base and it was almost as if the wait staff had no idea of what customer service is. When we first entered, we stood up at the front because there were no signs which said wait to be seated or see yourself. I finally had to walk over to the bar to ask the bartender if we seat ourself and she said yes. After after placing our order, we asked for additional salsa and chips and they were never delivered. The margarita we got was room temperature and watered down with extra ice. After a food was served, I don't recall the waitress or any other staff stopping by to check on us. Also, when we checked out at the front the young man who checked us out didn't even ask how the meal was or if we were happy with our service or visit. I guess it seems like if you want good customer service you're going to have...

Good and could be better. I did read reviews upon visiting and decided to give it a try. Like other reviews the food was decent but the service was just okay. I also read that the food came out at different times and that was also the case. My mom received her food about 5 minutes before mine and there was no “yours will be out shortly” “it’s taking a bit longer” nothing. We didn’t receive any refills the entire time and honestly the service just needs work. It felt like they just do the basics of taking your order and that’s it. Once finishing our food we waited for a check and finally decided to just get up and go to the front where we were cashed out but it would have been nice to know how to go about that as we had never been there before.
