So I have been going to sushi house with friends and family since I was 10 years old. They have some of the best sushi and kindest chefs . However last time I was there I went with a friend who is aspergers and has extreme social anxiety. I was trying to order from the menu and the waitress kept interrupting me to ask him if that's he wanted to order. I was paying the bill and just because my friend was a man does not make him in charge? He is not my boyfriend just a friend I wanted to help. He had never had sushi before and asked me to order for him. He was allergic to most things on the menu and has difficulty reading so he trusted me to order what was best. Instead of responding to me this she only spoke to him. He was incredibly nervous because she kept questions about food he had never had and directing everything to him. I asked for the bill and it was handed to him. Why would a woman treat another woman like an inferior child? We only ordered two dinners so why would this woman choose to make it so complicated . We didnt let her ruin the evening but he did ask why she wouldnt just let me order. This is the second time I've had an extremely rude waitress at sushi house which is why I only get carryout from there. The quality has gone downhill thru the years. I do hope this woman understands how rude and belittling it was when all we wanted was a simple meal not gender dynamics at play. Also there was something checked off on menu that we didnt check and the waitress almost didnt believe me that he didnt order it. She kept looking at him as if I wouldnt allow him food. Because of how he is he is very choosy and doesn't eat much. He never ordered beef broth. I'm sure she was just having a hard day. But I dont like the mindset that because he is the male he must be paying and ordering. The staff needs to learn simple manners. There are other nice people here but not the waitresses. Once I went with my cousin and our sponsor and we were appalled the waitress wouldnt even give me a bag for my carryout. Edit:still haven't...
Read moreThe 2 stars is for the chefs ONLY! The food was yummyy and presentation was great...but we all know in a restaurant experience service is the star ....the service -0 stars from the beginning to the end....I had a vibe that they are racist. First of all they where rushing rushing rushing and not in a nice manner NO! Like "you ready to order no okay " leaves comes back in two minutes "not ready yet mmm okay?" And if you ask anything about drinks or food they do not help just point to the menu like some ignorants...moving forward we put an order for $100 plus worth of sushi and entrees for two people ....try asking for sliced lemons or extra napkins...ATITUDE....asked for sriracha on the side waitress's response its one $1 is that okay...lol who charges for little of sriracha at a sushi place .....asked for the extra garnish that comes on the side of the yellowtail dinner answer "$1 okay ?" Omg these old Asian ladies are embaressing honestly because I chose the place for my company and the service just made the experience rediculous...and they'll plop the stuff on the table and just turn their backs NO ATTENTION or manners...also when we where still eating they decided to bring the bill and come and refill the sauce bottles on our table and refresh the chop sticks as they where doing on the empty tables hahaha I say they're racist because there was a lot of white people in on the other side of the restaurant across from us and the same ladies would just smile wide and even hug them as they are leaving! But our table and the one next to us which they seated in the back and where not white NO niceness....we usually tip $20-$50 and we chose NOT to to make the experience even worse one of the old Asian ladies that was cleaning the tables came back and was loud with it "NO TIP HA?" I SWEAR I...
Read moreThis is probably the first place where I have ever tried sushi. I must say that their offering s on rolls and other specialties are incredible. The food is just appropriately portioned and the rolls can go under many recognizable names (Red Wing, Lion King, etc.).
Decor wise, the restaurant displays some Japanese similarities aside from the food (artwork, Japanese music [w/ occasional American music], etc.); one notable feature is that there are some flat screen TVs that present a slideshow loop of their food, which I don't think I've seen everywhere else.
The staff--many of which are of Japanese or other Asian descent--are very friendly in that they will greet you when you walk in, are well-coordinated in preparing and serving the food, and have even developed a menu system in which customers mark their orders on laminated menus before being taken by the waiter/waitress, another thing I had never seen before at a restaurant.
I know that me and my relatives will be back to dine here in the near-future because the experience of traditional Japanese cuisine is one that I would like to call "spot-on". By the way--if you're interested, the owners of Sushi House operate a similar restaurant next door, under the name Tofu House. While I have not yet dined at Tofu House, I think I me and my taste buds would be willing to give this kind...
